Fungi that "eat" radiation growing at Chernobyl

I’m no David Bellamy but I don’t think trees are a type of fungus, not sure about “stuff” like.
Ectomycorrhiza: Often called sheathing fungi. Found mainly in association with tree roots. ... The fungal sheath sends out branches between the surface cells of the roots in order to exchange nutrients from the soil for sugars from the plants.
 
There was a mushroom growing out of the floor in the bogs at work where people had somehow missed the urinal... mushrooms will eat owt, the filthy buggers
