Pope looks some player

He's going to be quite special I think.

Feeling more optimistic about English batting than I have for a while. Would just like to see Crawley and Sibley get a big score (another in Sibley's case) to get Denly out the team for the Ashes and we are sorted.

By then Pope may be up at four and Root down at five. Stokes is currently better than both, but I'd like to see him at six again when Pope settles because he can play every type of innings and that, at six, is exactly what you want.

Looking long term, if all goes well...

Burns
Sibley
Crawley
Root
Pope
Stokes
Buttler/Foakes

That'd be a very decent top seven IMO

Similar pattern to Newlands: most batsmen playing themselves in without kicking on.
Well this is the partnership that makes or breaks it really
Cricket doesn't help itself.

Why are they finishing now? Why not play till 4?

Just because the over rate has been good, why not get more play when theres daylight.

England's day for me. Pitch looked like it got easier to bat on, but it's gonna be a fucker later on - get up to around 350 and we're well in control.
