exactly. I have no beef with either of them but feel they are taking the piss. The Queen should strip Harry of his Duke title which means that Megan loses her title. And she should lose her HRH too. They should never be allowed to represent the Queen again in any sort of official or private function, and should receive nothing from the public purse.
The Duke of Windsor was effectively banned from this country, perhaps the same should happen to Harry. He can’t be allowed to set up a separate court in opposition to William especially as we are now aware of the bad blood between the brothers. Harry should be told, in no uncertain terms that he is either a Prince of this Realm or he isn’t. It’s not a part time job to be picked up whenever he feels like it. This is Megxit, not Mino.

By all accounts they were offered the option to either go by car to the funeral, or take part in the procession. Prince Philip told Harry that he would walk alongside him if he did. Video of the event shows Philip not only walking beside Harry but also pressing his shoulder in sympathy as they walked.
Im surprised that you are not more condemning of the media demands that the Queen should bring two grieving children back from Balmoral and parade them outside Buckingham Palace for the benefit of the sadsacks and media lurking there hoping desperately that one of the ‘boys’ would fall to the ground weeping and wailing their grief just to satisfy the public’s morbidity and the media’s attempts to deflect the blame for the accident from them to the Palace.

Let’s look at this “taxpayers’ money” claim.
No revenue from income tax, VAT, corporation tax or any other general tax is paid to the royal family.
Instead their activities are funded from a share of the profits of the Crown Estate. IIRC total profits of this are around £380m a year,of which the royal family receives £80m.
It was this that funded the renovation of Frogmore House.
Private expenses are met from private means not taxpayer money.
Private means means vast landholdings and estates (Duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster). It is arguable that these, like the vast holdings of other families that have existed since the Norman conquest, should be broken up and/or nationalised. Personally I’d love to see the Dukes of Northumberland kicked into touch as they’ve leeched off their county for centuries without giving a fraction of the service the royal family have given
But the notion the royals are funded by “taxpayers’ money” isn’t straight forward. They are funded from a reserved pot of funding whose status is a bit blurry between the public and the private and fro nowhere else.

so a politician who crafts their career carefully gets a security detail for perpetuity no problem but a young man, born into a position he had no choice in, who has done more service for his country than most, should pay for a security detail necessary because of the way he will be hounded and targeted
