I thought it was for his foot bring off the line?Great save, first time round. It was slow to get to the decisions but the Wolves players shouldn't have encroached. If they can just speed things up a bit....

Its not fit for purpose was a complete joke. How in the name of fuck Pukka’s goal was given offside is beyond me.
It would have taken away some great moments, you're right. Wolves's equaliser last night lifted the roof off but I was surprised that it wasn't chalked off for Traore's shove in the back on Mendy.
Moaning about 'shit arrogant refs' is one of the reasons we're in this mess in the first place.
Now we can't even get decisions right using cameras.
What would have happened if Spurs decided to review the Pukki goal; presumably it would have been goal disallowed?
But what if it's a foot and a cm? Or a cm short of a foot? Surely you just have the same issue.
I'm not sure how your analogy is relevant.
It's a good argument that it can take away some of those moments. What about other moments that it can create, like the last gasp equaliser or winner that gets wrongly ruled out?It would have taken all of those moments away. And added zero.
The subtle difference though is that you can prove one is offside to within a level of confidence, so at least you are overturning something to a correct decision. Currently you have no idea if Pukki was actually offside as the technology doesn’t actually tell you definitively he was on or off

Or an opening goal against Bolton Wanderers

Well that’s just not cricket is it?And they are just the ones in important games. We've had some bowlers against us, not many in big games like.
It was a disgrace that likeJust saw Pukki's disallowed goal, what a joke. If VAR is to be used for offsides, the rule needs to be changed.
Yes, but in making your decision you're still measuring whether or not he is a foot and an inch offside, or an inch less than a foot.
They live in their own little world. Whole industry around it all. Fans are the last thought unfortunately.Does anyone in authority realise how silly it has become?
Look on the bright side, It will not effect us for a bloody long time. Just another rule that brings out that football is not a universal game. Just because they are involved at 'top' level they have a different set of rules.(or supposedly same rules but are not fully applied at different levels)Even with var I don't reckon wilf was offside. Arms don't count. And the soton player was playing wilf onside anyway (marginally).
VAR could be good but isn't.
