One of the first things he did when he came in was to sack half the facilities and hospitality staff. Hardly surprising the place is looking like a shit tip.

You have missed the point of the seats and using volunteers. it should be about community and contributing to your community in a way that you find rewarding, it’s not about being free labour. Can’t think of an6 better community than my football club. If I had the time and lived in Sunderland I would love to contribute. But I would be doing for my community not for the owners. But it would be a better club for it. It doesn’t and shouldn’t stop at clearing litter. There is loads o& stuff volunteers can do and do in community based organisations. Its got absolutely nothing to do with the owners this point before someone above try’s to make out it does.
Absolutely mate. I did 2 seat fitting shifts and got a proper buzz out of it. I can now sit with my wife and kids at the match (we're all season ticket holders) and they'll always know that I fitted them two rows of seats. It's a pride thing although judging by these photos SD seems to have lost interest in that. I wonder what the Americans would make of it.

Went to xmas dinner at the sol today, you got the opportunity to be taken down pitch side as part of the day.

This was the state of the tunnel when we went down

I mean surely they could have got someone to have a bit sweep up if they're taking people down there?
That truely reflects a club that is rudderless, I fear the worst :-(

Back in the day, we had a team of cleaning staff who started their shift after a home game and cleaned the stadium top to bottom and worked till around midnight after every Saturday game. The place was pristine again by the Sunday morning.

I know this because the ex cleaner at work used to work there and told me this. She absolutely loved working there and had been made redundant after the first relegation. She said there was a real commaradiry among the staff and they were pretty much all fans of the club and loved working there.

Standards have dropped and we are where we are and its a long road back.

He has hasn’t he. Iam surprised because engaging with the fan base and including them in the activity of the club is the simplest way to improve communication and create a we are all in it together mentality.

Unfortunately that's a sad reflection on the club right now, no ambition, no pride.

Lovey photo mate which has marginally cheered me up after a week from hell (and I am not talking about either the footbal or the politics, both of which were shit) but just not as shit as the rest of the things that occured during the week.

Cheers.
Glad its put a positive spin on something for you.

And just look at the little faaaaaace

The other year I noticed what appeared to be a weed growing up between a crack/gap in the concrete near the front of the east stand. It was under someone’s seat, who was sat there, otherwise I would have pulled the bugger out myself.

There are no standards at the club. It’s a shit show from top to bottom. Stewart Donald is a charlatan and a chancer imo, and he can fuck right off as far as I’m concerned.

It’s absolutely about the ownership. Where’s the accountability for all of this? Working class people giving up their time will make a rod for our own backs.

Sorry mate but it's not about doing it for the community when the owner says he values the business at £30-50 million. A multi million pound club like us should not require free labour from the fans. Community might be helping raise money for under 9's football kit etc not because a multi millionaire owner wants to save himself £50.

100%..fans over the years have given their time to help their clubs out..years ago clubs would put appeals out for fans to come and help clear snow off pitches so games could go ahead..sure enough fans would come and help out and show a bit community spirit..this is different with these arseholes..we see nothing and hear nothing from them..i applaud various posters on here for saying they'd be willing to give their time and go and clean the waste up themselves..it's just another thing adding to the misery surrounding our great club..DON'T DO IT..i know it's a great gesture but don't give these piss taking wankers the satisfaction..they'll happily sit back and take anything for free..not just the mess in the ground but the whole mess is down to them..let them sort it..tossers.

It's all gone wrong for Donald hasn't it,
The club is far too big for him, he's stripped it back to the bare bones and things like this is the result,

there's no coming back from this for him now,

The general match day experience is a shambles, I could put up with that for a while if we were getting results but it's just as bad on the pitch,.

SD has become everything he was supoosedly against in the first two weeks of his ownership.

Tidied.
Symptom of having a bloke in charge who thought he could flip it and sell for profit but ultimately fail and being stuck with it, and without the funds to run it.
At least the food in hospitality is top class
