Giving it large over a club that were (and still are) two divisions above his club was absolute weirdo behaviour.

Your fans spending 90 minutes last night singing about a club two divisions below them is absolute weirdo behaviour too.

Hello that was my post about Charlie as I was at uni with him and would have a few drinks and a yarn at the Oxford sportsman’s club (Vincent’s) of which he was a member as a golfing blue. So he wasn’t pretending as it was me. I was pretty surprised and excited that a contact from the past was directly involved in SAFC. I know he has told me there is a lot of rebuilding to do at the club, no quick fixes and patience required. I think the problems were more deep rooted than the realised. If his exit is health or family related and he read this then all the best Charlie. It’s easy to hate one man for 5 years of complete mismanagement and hurt but it ain’t fair. FTM.

After your post attributing the global financial crisis to a UK Labour government I’m giving this post a wide berth tbh.

Good post. I have a very good accountant who does my books, employees PAYE etc, but he doesn’t have the first idea what I do, or what it take me to be a success in my field.

Is he an employee, or a professional advisor? That makes a hell of a difference. And, to be honest, to me, an accountant who doesn't have at least some understanding of his clients' businesses is giving a poor service; he should be an adviser, not jst somene who takes some admin load off you.

Our fans sang for the entire match? Fair play tbh although I couldn’t hear it to that level on my stream.

Because it has no relevance to what was or wasn't said at the liaison meeting. We know nothing of where and when this recording was made, and whether it's already been commented on. In any event, to me it seems irrelevant to Methven's decision to resign.
People probably have an issue with what he's said full stop. That doesn't make it irrelevant imo. Plus, his northerner/southerner comment has been confirmed as being said at the meeting. That is also very relevant. All these snide comments from him about us have added up and paint a clear picture about the man. It is very relevant in forming a picture of the individual.

James Hunter at the Chronicle:

BREAKING: Charlie Methven has resigned from the board at #safc for personal reasons. He will officially leave the club next Thursday. He will retain his 6 percent stake in the club

Personal reasons relate to his family - he and his new wife Helen are expecting a baby in the New Year - and also his other business interests. #safc

Methven is a grade A prick who looked on us with utter condescension.
I met him a couple of times and his arrogance was palpable.
For a PR guru he constantly made mistakes that portrayed us in a bad light.
Normally I would be celebrating his departure.

However; he was the link to the Dell boys and brought them to the table.
His personal relationship with them would have facilitated any takeover if he had stayed on the board.

His departure means that is less likely to happen.
Its pretty obvious that Charlie knows people but it doesn't follow that people like him.

Do you think when Prince Andrew brokered a £885m contract between Kazakhstan and an international sewage consortium he stuck around to install water pipes and dig trenches, or was he due a £4m payoff for the introduction and never the twain shall meet.

Disagree mate. The pressure has got to him, he's made yet more comments and he's been pulled up on them. The games over for him. All this personal bullshit, I don't buy it for a moment. He wouldn't be rapping if we were flying high in the championship, family or not.
The blokes a fuckin arsehole.

Happened on their watch, bank de-regulation, lower capital adequacy requirements etc all contributed to some degree. Building societies and retail banks trying to be investment banks and government stood idly by. Yes austerity gone too far but if Boris gets in we can move forward and start building and independent, globally focused great country. In which SAFC will rise up to the Premier again 👍

As above.

I didn't hear it myself, I posted a link to one of your own who was there complaining about it.
Weirdos eh?

Yes, it’s weird behaviour.

You’d sort of expect that sort of tribalism from match going fans who travel regularly, mind as weird as it is.

For one of the key member of your administration to come out with it though is more embarrassing imo. Not sure why you’re defending him, mind. He’s repeatedly shown to have contempt for your fanbase.

Don’t forget the trousers marra.

Fairly obvious that they wanted to make a quick buck.
Purchased a massive club, debts written off and an immediate return to the Championship where the stock would rise in value, thus cash in and make money.
No affinity to Sunderland whatsoever.
Put the money on black but it came up white with no plan B.
They will be gone without doubt but Sunderland have one massive asset the loyal fanbase and most can see through a couple of Southern chancers.
Big clubs never die and just be thankful that big clubs have a massive fanbase.
New owners will come and hope it works out as I’m sure it will.
