Pickford and Defoe aside, I don't think I rated any of our players that season.

TBH, it's always difficult to judge a young player on loan thrust into a struggling side. Denayer was better than Janusaj. The latter was skiful but had, and possibly still has, the football sense of a 9 year old boy.
Januzaj being a professional footballer makes my blood boil

Good player, plenty of potential but will probably suffer unless he nails down one position. Complete shitehouse off the field apparently. All in all, a good fit into the Team of 2017 that would play the Team of 2020 off the park
:(

I thought he was shocking here for most part. Had a 2 game spell where he was alright just infront of the back 4 but other than that just wasn’t there for us unfortunately

Marc Wilson used to let the ball bounce a few times before heading it.
Well, it took him a few attempts to get off teh treatment table before he could head the ball

We played (I think) WBA and he played left back. Van Aanholt came on as sub and played left wing/wing back so Denayer was almost a left sided centre half in a 3. For that one game, we (he) looked good, It looked like we'd stumbled on something - PVA scored a late equaliser.

Lost the next 3 games like

Threw in the towel early doors like so many of the squad that season. He seemed more keen to stay injury free than try to impress anyone. I remember he wasn't exactly chuffed to be here and in fairness its hard to see why Man City sent him to us. Another lesson SAFC should learn but will probably reciprocate.
