Agree but at the same time the pathetic personal abuse needs to be stopped by supposed supporters.

Some comments on here have been pretty disgusting too.
Genuine question but what disgusting abuse has been said on here? May have been quickly deleted but all I've seen is people refusing to trust him or buy into what he says.

I'm amazed how Donald has evolved from the Oxford and Eastleigh, honest, saintly family bloke to a devious, underhand, criminal mastermind in the space of 18 month.

I'm not amazed.

Ellis Short was public enemy No1, he was hated... he walked away and watched from a distance whilst Sunderland AFC slid into the sorry depths it now finds itself.

Now? Well, Saint Ellis has recently been canonized on this forum.

This thread summarised:

Safc fans: we're worried that we're being lied to again and fear the worst, given the last 4 years of this clubs management.

Other safc fans: our fans are cringeworthy and shit for being worried that they're being lied to, and only me a "good fan", knows this and I feel compelled to tell everyone else that they're cringeworthy and shit.

CM: our fans caused SD to come off Twitter.

My point is, nothing in the last 4 years can be blamed on the fans. Yet here we go again with the constant bashing. How about this. If the club hadn't fucked every single thing up for the last 4 years (at least), they might have more patient and trusting fans.

However we always hear about the "negativity". Christ, I'm surprised there hasn't been a total utter boycott given then last 4 years, any other club would have. Our fans are simply awesome. 30k (there abouts) every week. 45k on boxing day last year. Sell outs almost every away day. Even a little glimmer of something gets total backing, JR got all the backing in the world, the cup final to the PO final, even after we'd fucked up automatics.

This is where I commend @Cack Stottie and RR for once as I thought last poddy with Methven they were very good at hitting back on this point. Methven was, again, out of line. And SD quickly tried to put that right last night.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blinkered and understand a lot of what he says should be taken with a pinch of salt. He’s a businessman after all so he’s not going to want to be out of pocket and some of his claims about club offers etc may be a little elaborate for my liking and he’s trying a little too hard to impress people but I honestly think he wants to be the bloke that takes us back up the leagues and is trying his best to do that. Time will tell on FFP’s involvement but people can’t deny their potential backing is a positive.

I just wanted to hear that they still have the best interests of the club at heart and we are looking to address the shite on the pitch and the quality of the squad. He did, I’ll reserve judgment on that until January.

I think it was good and agree with him that the football criticism is fair game but the financial interrogation on here is beyond ridiculous.

mental comment.

we were nearly liquidated due to previous financial mismanagement. It’s absolutely right that fans question what is going, financially, with the club.

I think people are expecting someone wishing aids on him and his kids or something. He was clear last night the abuse he couldn’t handle were those questioning his motive. He handled that by removing himself from Twitter. He shouldn’t have shied away from public talk ins and matches in my opinion but he’s only human and if he needed a rest bite then that’s his prerogative. If we hadn’t lost a load of games nobody would have cared.

The criticism is fair especially in terms of recruitment and performance but there are some obvious agendas by some. It’s the world we live in now. Trolling and shouting abuse from your keyboard is an accepted opinion by a generation. It’s up to the sensible to filter that out and that includes Stewart Donald, although not being subjected to it I’m not qualified to comment.

Take your pick.

I agree I seen a few of those words mentioned. He cleared this up last night about his twitter account although some claimed it was personal about his family. I never seen anything like that on here.

Match days are just pure apathy now,no passion, obviously not as toxic as here but it'll get there if this shit continues. No way can you say the match day atmosphere is positive

No not by a long shot but people just seem a bit more reasonable. I genuinely believe that if people reacted at the match or in the real world reacted like they do on here they would be challenged and quite correctly held accountable for the drivel the spout.

I’m not saying everything is rosey in the garden far from it but you can tell in posts on this thread alone there is a lot of hatred and resentment embedded within “fans” on here and at this point I personally don’t understand why? it’s certainly not that bad at matches!

It depends on which dictionary you refer to, but ‘Chancer’ can very much be a derogatory/abusive/slanderous term. I know to me, it always meant someone who took a risk/gamble which is what the Cambridge Dictionary says, and I don’t see that as being particularly offensive, but many other dictionaries refer to it being someone who is devious and fooling others.

I am certain there will still be plenty of abusive posts on here which I haven’t seen yet and haven’t been reported, but sadly there has been a hell of a lot of stuff deleted by myself and the moderators so what is left is only the tip of the iceberg.

The abuse serves nobody. All it is doing is alienating the owners and causing arguments on here. No way should we all be ‘happy clappers’ and I have criticised both SD and CM and our managers myself on here, but I have never felt the need to throw abuse or threaten any of them.

FPP not FFP.

I'm no financial genius but does this FPP loan just a standard loan? If clubs do this all the time why is this different? If I took out a huge loan I'd have to put up my house as security. That doesn't mean the bank will move in with me. They'll take the house because I couldn't pay back the loan.

IMO, they fucked up the takeover and we had to settle for a loan of £10m. Something went wrong somewhere.

He’s rattled as hell, but I’d expect him to be. He’s desperate to get the Americans embedded in the club and is doing everything he can to facilitate that
If they take over completely ,which i suspect is what Stewie and the Meths are hoping for then all well and good. That is depending on what the plans going forward are....

Spot on.

Every chairman/owner at a football club will be criticised at some point.

You only need to look at the abuse Ashley has faced, does it bother him? Not in the slightest. The problem with Stew is he seems to take everything to heart, Not everything that’s posted on social media is meant. Not that it’s an excuse but its sadly the way a lot of social media is these days.
