Donald on BBC Newcastle

In law, they're not. Sartori's money has nothing to do with the club at all. Sartori owns 20 £1 shares in Madrox, which he bought from Donald. How much he paid Donald for them is between him and Donald. People simply assumed that he put £3m in because it's 20% of £15m. That's not necessarily the case.
That would open a whole new question if he has paid more than £3mil as then again SD figures won’t add up again. Don’t make it harder please 😂

I’m glad Donald has spoken. Some of it could be clever language - I turned down 30mill could be I reckon I could make more, if I don’t perform they take over - well if they didn’t want to take over why have they said they might take over - but overall I think the pressure we have put him under has made him reflect and It will up his (their) game. That’s the power we have - its costly for him to not listen but that interview says he’s listening so respect to him. Now they all need to walk the walk and do it.
Yep,for me its all down to the jan window andhow thats handled.Mind after all the vitriol spewed out tonight on here it will be funny when a few marcus maddisonesque type signings roll in.Im sure people will rush to say well done stewy ......or will they ;)

Problem weve got is how far adrift will we be come jan, because whatever is going on in the dressing room its killing performances.I felt from peterboro onwards the bulk of the team have downed tools.

Decent interview. It isn't going right for him at the moment but it clearly isn't easy to run a successful football club. Hopefully things turn around soon

My main complaint is his 'openness' about Grigg. He shouldn't be that blunt about a player who isn't in form. Grigg is clearly at the very bottom of his confidence levels so having an owner who talks about you like that isn't going to spur him on to score more goals

I thought he came across very well.
He has finally clearly stated what happened when he bought the club.
I agree with him that the club is being funded at a good level for league one.
Nearly all transfer fees are free transfers at this level its the wages that count.
He and Charlie do need to get there stories better aligned though.
The loan is clearly something else. Its about getting the Americans involved.
So im happy the financial side has finally been cleared up. I just don't understand why they didn't admit it when they first got on board.
The footballing side is still pretty poor but it seems they've realised that needs work and unfortunately we need to give them time to implement some changes.
Still think more work needs doing on the football organisation side, and I hope that Parkinson gets to implement his high press. I think he's going to turn us into 90s Ireland!

Did anyone ask Donald his reasons for recruiting a clueless football manager when he took over the club? Then quite incredibly why he’s employed an even more clueless one after he sacked him?

Yes. He used to write for ALS years ago. I recall once someone called him out as a mag and Anderson was laughing saying “if only they knew.”

Did not know that, things you learn on here.

as for TS tonight, a lot questions raised and some answers, but not all.

Unfortunately it's on his wiki page:

Sartori has taking the role of director with a 20% stake at a cost of £3 million.

Ah class. I like him even more now.

Or it could spur him on to prove him wrong?

Grigg's a big lad, he'll know his performances are not acceptable. I can't see him improving any time soon.

I'm sure either just before or after Sartori came aboard SD said on a podcast that he was getting 20% for £3m.

This article alludes to it:

"listening to the latest podcast with Stewart Donald, it was £3m that Juan Sartori paid for 20%, not £2m."

This article states it but doesn't have the quote:

"So far, and encouragingly, Juan Sartori a prominent Uruguayan businessman with enterprises from Latin America to China, has paid £3m for a 20% stake"

Presumably money he's put in to pay Short (Madrox owed him £5m at the 2018 year endin respect of this), plus any money that's gone into the club (paying off the amount due to SAFC). It's a director's loan, exactly the same as we had with Short. It's just owed by Madrox, not Sunderland.

I may be ignorant but how would Madrox go about earning the money to pay Donald as presumably it is just a company created as a vehicle to own SAFC ?

I’ve personally gone the other way to most and softened to SD recently having been a bit of a dick about it all from day one. But I will be f***ing gutted if we sign Marcus Maddison or Gary Madine etc etc.

I'm not so sure it's all about confidence with Grigg, as much about the fact he never wanted to be here in the first place and still doesn't. Kernt smiled when he missed that pen the other week
