Sterling & Gomez Bust Up

Gomez was caught on camera several times during the city game trying to wind Sterling up

Different when it's international duty though so Sterling should've just walked away

The media hate Sterling so no doubt they'll go massively overboard and blow this all out of proportion

If I was Sterling I'd probably be wondering if it's worth the hassle if the media do get on his back over this

Sterling's went up in my estimations always thought he was mercenary type I'm glad he's bothered me. I would've made him captain more of this attitude less of the wallowing in failure shit

Well done Southgate. No player should ever be bigger than the team.

Obviously GS sees RS as being at fault.
And he must have been majorly at fault to prompt such action from GS.
GS is a class act and an excellent man-manager.

Seems like awful man management that. Keep it in house, sit them down, discipline them internally if needs be and itll blow over. Instead hes chosen to alienate just the one player publically and create a media storm. That's before you even consider hes Englands best player by a considerable margin.
They should both have been disciplned and not just Sterling IMO.

Made the decision to get the jump on a story that would have ended up in the media one way or another - allows Southgate to control the spin.

Why?
Because it involved two players. Southgate mentioned it in his statement about club rivalries being put to one side in the squad. This was obviously not the case here so each player was equally to blame. Its exaccerbated the problem and could cause division within the squad.
