Red Bull

Obviously this is completely hypothetical.
Previously as supporters we’ve been largely against the idea being taken over by Red Bull because of the likelihood of name and kit changes. However, since we’ve bottomed out (hopefully) to the worst point in our history, would you accept being taken over by RB if it meant the whole package including being renamed?
No

No. I might as well just go and support another club because it wouldn't be us anymore.
Why would it not be us?
What makes a club?
Name? Colours? Ground? Strip? Fans?
I'd go with fans.
Maybe I'm easily bought but so long as the fans back the club, and the club plays in Sunderland, who cares if we have RB in front of the name, or for that matter play in all red rather than red & white.

Change the name and strip and it's still us ?
Sorry, I totally disagree.
What happens if they decide to relocate, say 100 miles away ?
Where will the fans be then ? Would it still be our club ?

Sunderland Toro Rosso along with a cracking new strip, the recent ones have been utter shite to match every thing else about the club. People would get over it if we were back in the top flight and giving sides a game.

So Sunderland RB are now about to play in the Champions League against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid and you wouldn’t bother going because they had a different name.
I smell Red Bullshit.

Couldn't give a shit what you smell tbh.
I am merely answering the op's question.

I've already said I think fans make the club.
Move the club 100 miles away and you break that link. Slight change of name, different strip, doesn't bother me.

They've done an amazing job at Leipzig, fighting at the top of the Bundesliga and top of their CL group. Their recruitment seems to be spot on every season. If we had players like Werner, Poulsen and Sabitzer strutting their stuff at the SoL every other week, I imagine all the complainers would be a very small minority.

Hell no!

The name would be RB Sunderland. We would still be referred to as Sunderland in the same way that Leipzig and Salzburg are referred to as Leipzig and Salzburg.

The Red Bull clubs play in red and white. It’s not necessarily striped but they might keep them for us.

Which other football clubs have RB relocated 100 miles away? They haven’t moved any of their 3 clubs (technically 4 but the Brazilian one was a new club), even though New York actually play their home games in New Jersey.

Shitehawks are Red Bull. Have a look at what they did to Leipzig. Sold their soul for a place at the top table.

It's just franchising of football. And I'll include the likes of Man City buying up other teams in that. Would MK Dons be less derided if the owners had a few quid and another club on the go?

If they moved then to Milton Keynes then yeah, they would still have been derided. That was the issue, not that they were taken over.
