It’s not circular but you could get the E1 from Shields fair back to Latimers. Mileage covered if you followed the cliff top path would be about 8 miles.
Anar, but which one is “pirates cove”, I’ve never heard of it.

After the weather this week, all of the walks inland are mud pits. I know from trying to find somewhere that the dog doesn’t come back looking like the creature from the black lagoon.

It's sodden round here. I've had to wash mine everyday this week.

Where did you end up going @toxic tracksuit? It was beautiful when I was out in the sunshine with mine.

If you want to go a bit further away, Gibside has lovely walks plus a play area and stuff for the bairn. Northumberlandia near Cramlington is canny too. I've had my photo taken standing on her nipple
Northumberlandia isn't worth the trip.

Despite best intentions and some good advice on here, Mrs TT got involved and we ended up at Whitburn.
However, it was lovely. Loads out, bright sunshine and no wind and the dog had a blast. AND we saw a seal about 5-10 yards offshore.

That sounds like a canny day out

Used to enjoy a walk along the river from the Queen Alex to the Wearmouth bridge & back when I lived in that part of town.

Normally very few people down there to potentially ruin it too.

The river walk, along the C2C route, is one of my favourites. Loads of variation, industry, history and beauty.

Aye, I guess the bit near Liebheer sums it all up really.

Classic Industry one side of you, natural beauty of the river in the middle, & then up above you a structural monument to the ongoing Great Depression.
