Stopping fan engagement for fear of abuse will be counterproductive and just increase the abuse he gets. Donald needs to keep doing these events and trust that the majority of fans will keep those prepared to shout abuse in order.
 


Can anyone actually clarify or provide proof of the actual abuse he got, personal threats etc?

I’m not saying it didn’t happen but did Donald go out to sue a newspaper after they printed lies about him? I’m sure if it was personal threats/abuse about family etc, he would’ve got the police involved.

And for the record, if it did happen, it was totally unacceptable.

Mate, he can't even sit in the premier concourse which is virtually empty, bar hand selected sparsely seated occupants, with all the exits bricked up. Presumably in case one of the chairs calls him names.
 
This abuse thing is just set in stone now? If it happened on twitter then it’s bad and he did the right thing to come off but I have never heard any abuse at any games towards SD. Only a few short weeks ago he was in the away end when we were getting beat and no abuse there.
I just think it’s an excuse. If it is that members of his family are ill then he should say and people would understand. For the abuse thing to continue to grow arms and legs is a disgrace to be honest.

Totally lost the plot, he needs to hand the club over to someone who actually gives a shit. Hes doing no one any good as things currently are.

We have heard the family member being ill thing before haven't we? Usually results in them f***ing off on a free. Then everything is better.

Did he not say that fans who are unhappy with him should turn up at these talk-ins and put there grievances to him? Time he sold up if he won't face the music.
 
Funny how when we were in a good position, scoring in every game, had Wembley trips booked etc he wanted to be in the fans' face's and sorting out broken down buses, but now a 3rd season in league one looks likely he doesn't want to show his face anywhere. He's in for a shock when the parachute payments are gone and it's season ticket renewal time mind...
 
You couldn't find Quinny when things weren't going well so nowt new. A couple of league wins and he'll be back amongst us

But the lad pointed out that he shouldn't have to face abuse. Not sure I get the point of this response in relation to his message tbh.

Was a PM on twitter apparently. You can see the tweets he got publicly if you search @StewartDonald3 on twitter.
 
He shouldn't receive personal abuse, threats to him and his family is horrendous and anyone found doing so, should be punished.

Seems to be an easy cop out mind, He has been abused by a minority pretty much from the start. There's always idiots and you can't stop them all. He really needs to just sell up to be honest.
