What I find really strange about some of the daft bastards, is the inability to separate Sunderland the club and Sunderland the City. The people are exactly the same, same problems, same jobs, just different accents. But if you speak to some of them you wouldn’t think there’s 14 miles between each other and do exactly the same things. I worked with one lad from the west end of Newcastle who asked me what it was like living in Sunderland, I was like ‘I don’t know mate, I’m from South Tyneside’. He genuinely thought that was apart of Sunderland, which is staggering as lot of their support stems from Gateshead etc.

I’m absolutely astounded anybody from the west end of Newcastle would consider to have derogatory thoughts about any other part of the north east! It’s the pinnacle of All the shitholes
