Significant investment by FPP has been made

So. Three billionaires who are normally charged with the task of investing the wealth of the 25th richest man in the world, have decided that it’s a good investment opportunity to loan a third division club potentially £12m in order to make a few quid interest??! :lol:This place ffs

Being serious, this money will go a long way to rebuild the foundations of club. It’s now important that those that walked away, start attending again. The negativity needs to stop and it’s now time to back the manager and players.

So after all the debates what is the consensus on what the new guys will receive for their investment?

1. Have we sold them the stadium
2. Sold them first dibs on share options
3. Taken a loan?

Its all deliberately unclear from Methven who make no mistake is not a businessman of any repute with barely a razoo to rub together himself.

Can only hope its good news for the club but suspect only a portion of the investment will reach the club and the rest will go to messrs Donald, Methven and Sartori.
Aye, I’m sure a bunch of billionaires are unsavvy and naive enough to be fooled into investing in those thread when they thought they were investing in SAFC.

They’re probably always getting the wool pulled over their eyes, it’s a wonder Michael Dell lets them manage all his investments.

Right, waste of time then.

Not at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

If the investors were just loaning the money to SAFC, then it wouldn't count towards our turnover as far as the League 1 Financial Fair Play equivalent rules were concerned, and so our wage bill couldn't increase proportionally with the money coming in.

With them loaning it to Madrox, it allows Madrox to give it to SAFC, thereby making it count as turnover, therefore allowing us to pay higher wages on players to get out of League 1.

Genius move, to be fair.

“In recent months, Richard Hill and Tony Coton [Head of Recruitment] have understandably but unfairly taken a lot of flak for having to manage, on their own, a very complex and difficult situation.

“It’s been about taking a step back to try and take two forward and that’s why this investment is important, so we can get on the front foot in these areas.

“I’d ask that people judge the results of Richard and Tony’s work over a 3 year period, not making them take the blame for a structure that simply had to go.”

Quotes from Methven. Hill and Coton are staying put.

Im relieved weve managed to hook them. Great news, but we really need them fully on board. Most of the club has descended into such a poor state, i dont trust SD to make the correct decisions with the investment. Imagine hill and coton being given free reign with 10m+. It sends a shiver down the spine. We need a new broom at the top of the football side of things. Clear these jokers out and get some good people in along with a scouting system that is fit for purpose.

Very succinct. That’s exactly how I feel.
Delighted they’re on board as they wouldn’t be pissing about with the investment if they didn’t see it as an ongoing involvement and should hopefully expedite a takeover if they want to do so.
Share your concern that Donald’s ongoing support of his chums Hill, Reid, Coton et al will see it wasted and we fail to get out of this League anytime soon and FPP lose interest.

It’s been a poor season so far and brung many supporters down including me. I’m as negative as they come but I agree with this.. It’s time to back the team, starting tomorrow. I shall be there.

A top class scouting system in north of England and Scotland would be good start
This is vital. At our lower level we should hold all the cards with young lads as they will immediately be a few steps closer to the first team if they sign for us versus any other team in the region whilst also having the prestige of such a big club.

At least it looks like everyone is in agreenent: Donald has either played a blinder and secured some investment which will secure the future of the club or panicked and mortgaged the club putting its future in jeopardy.

What is clear is that no one actually knows what is going on from the information available and we should probably put the champagne on ice\ step away from the edge of the bridge until we know a bit more.

"There’s a large scouting network now being put in place by Tony Coton, including substantial numbers of scouts in this country, Scandanavia and elsewhere."

That's one less thing for the whingers to bawl about.

That's exactly what they're doing according to CM in that interview in the Echo.
Aye we've only lost a year and a bit of scouting. Great eh? Fancy people bawling about that. It's not like we're midtable in league one.

The club could literally shit in every drawer in your house and you still wouldn't complain.

If the ‘loan’ /investment is to Madrox, it will probably be secured over the assets they have which I believe is only Sunderland shareholding. So my best guess would be it’s a way for them to eventually either buy out Madrox or the club that way.

If the original intent was to make us financially stable by cutting everything back to bare bones so that they could rebuild it themselves with a firm plan in mind and the right people in the right jobs, then I can't see what the problem is. The club was haemorrhaging money a couple of years ago. It needed to be cut back to the point of being able to pay for itself in order to look good for investors. We now have the investors we were coveting and because of their input we can start building things back up again.

Patience, man. It's a virtue, and it gets rewarded. The club has a plan here. The bumpy bit is almost over. Chill out and enjoy the rest of the ride.

Also, the blokes have my trust and I'm genuinely delighted they are staying. I hope if any takeover happens in the future, Donald stays.

Providing he sticks to the finances and fan engagement.

He and the men he's tasked to run the footballing side of the club are killing us.

Not if those making the footballing decisions continue to fail, which then results in us NOT getting promoted this season.
