Significant investment by FPP has been made

He's a black and white loving **** who has done nothing but abuse our club, supporters and city for decades. I'd wear a pair of shoes out kicking the bastard if I run into him. Shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the SoL, the sniddy little shit.
Aye but apart from that though

Not unhappy mate, but they're reporting that MSD have put forward a significant investment without actually buying any shares. So if they're not buying a portion of the club, what is their consideration for putting in a significant sum of money.

Now if Don has managed to persuade them to give the club significant sums of money for absolutely no return then he has played a blinder, but I doubt that has happened.

I suspect that the echo just dont have a clue what is going on and fucked up their article tbh.

No such thing as a free lunch...

Now you know if we’re good at anything it’s wasting money on shite.

I think it’s already in place judging by the increased work rate the last couple of games but we will go up if a significant bonus is paid to the squad for successfully doing so and nothing for failure.

It was in place in the Reid golden years and a few ex players have commented what a difference it made

If anything it gives some optimism and hope.
That is what we all need and helps us all to carry on.

Does this just cover the cost of SD being able to carry on running the current squad in the hope we somehow get promotion. Carrying an injured and inadequate Wyke and an uninterested Grigg and McGeady ? If we don't manage to get promoted then they've not lost that much in terms of their wealth. Until it's made official with a positive plan then it's more pathetic words and rumours IMO

If you've bought into the wild hysteria and nonsense created mainly on this forum, then I suppose it is.
If you look at it as an initial investment from 3 billionaires with a view to longer term plans, then it is nothing but very good news

This exact point is exactly what I don't understand about this board!

Some of the richest people in the world have just pumped 8 figures into a third division club.
(where the f*ck have you ever heard of this amount of investment to a club at this level before?)

They've done so specifically to fund player recruitment, scouting and the academy.
(So they're not only 'playing the long game' because of the strings attached, but they're funding the sectors we've all thought were failing so they've done their homework - people DON'T do this with 'loans').

Over ten million quid to be spent in the right areas on a third division club!

Imagine if the same people had pumped this money into another club?
People would be slashing their wrists on here - "how come this never happens to SAFC?

And the thread discussing the minimum ten million investment in a third division club?
" underwhelming"
"need more clarity"
"it's not a takeover FFS"

I dispair of this board sometimes.
(I've a feeling I've said this before...)

As with many on here, my knowledge of company finance, law and structure is limited to little beyond how many beer tokens the club sec has managed to get himself this year. And that doesn't amount to much as I don't go to a club now!

But, though I am at an utter loss as to why, it looks as though these guys, long touted and long doubted, are actually interested in and committed to our club in a way which would have seemed laughably absurd in the weeks after Charlton's last minute winner a few months ago.

If it is a loan in any conventional sense that I would understand, they must be mad. Nuts. They probably aren't, so they must therefore see a further involvement as a goal in the future.

Very good news indeed I'd say, and especially the idea that the first thing to build back up is the base.

Double free transfers is still free as that is what we would of been looking at
Which is why i dont know why this board is so fascinated with the level of investment.we have no wiggle room in jan with fpp. However there is no limit of money that you can put in to the sol aol managment etc .So could the improved sol be the cash cow going forward, could they be planning what derby did but legally.

The way we have leaked the confirmation? Through the Sunderland Echo? Why no official statement? It’s very suspicious this. Sounds like a loan that our ownership is trying to spin into something it’s not! I don’t trust this ownership at all...

yep, that was me. it's in an article from the chronicle just after Ross was sacked with quotes from SD:

He said: "There's no connection to any takeover news..."

Tbf to SD he does refer to it as investment in that link
