doesnt brian marwood work for man city?
SD will still be chairman..why would he work for a salary for someone elses company when he can just run his own companies and be his own boss?
he doesnt need the money from being a league one chairman,,its peanuts..

In order to justify staying at the club with a shareholding, which he hopes might rocket in value if we get to the PL?

But no, you make a fair point, he'd probably stay as chairman, which I wouldn't argue with if we also got a DoF type to oversee that side. Still not convinced the Americans would want him involved at all, but if it's that or no investment maybe they'd accept it if they think the opportunity is still potentially lucrative enough

he runs the football department, so negiatues contracts with exisitng players based on who the manager wants to keep, negotaies transfers with players the manager wants to buy, oversees the medical, sports science and analytics departments, and manages the football department budgte.
just as tony davison runs the comemrcial department, RH runs the football department, ellis sjhort had a work experience kid doing it, which explains the fuck ups that happened then, RH is definitely an improvement on that.
But, RH;s seniority is less than that of a director of football, i think because SD is doing some of those functions, and I dont think that has worked, so I would have a directyor of football taking on the role SD does, with RH or another below that individual. Thats how arsenal and man city do it, our current structure is much closer to that of Man utd...

How do you know all of this out of interest? (I don't think you are Charlie by the way)

cprteste would be good, as would marwood but doesnt marwood work for man city in the role we employ RH in at safc? why would he chuck all of that up to come to league one?
Marwood is retirement age anyway, doubt a long term projhect interests him..

do you know the reasons for his exit? is it another job in football?

“Not takeover related” is the party line. Think it’s more of a reflection of the mess behind the scenes.

private equity owners usually want someone who knows an industry and a business to stay on and run it for them..its how it works, and they rate CM as hey listened to him when he pitched this deal.
i would certaunly have a DOF as well mind, one of the big strategic errors from SD was not appointing one, and instead combining some of the role of chairman with some of the role of DOF which is what he does now..and it isnt working.
SD doesnt need to justify keeping a shareholding..he can just keep it, he owns it, he decides what happens..he can do a michael dell if he wants and be a passive investor with his shareholdding and still keep some of the upside, exactly what dell is supposed to be doing?

thank you. whats the nature of the mess?
I mean TD is mates with SD and CM right? so not a personality clash?
But we’ve all been told everything is hunky dory and we’re the most professional club in league one! These owners are nothing but bluffers!
on the fooball side mybe..but clubs do have other departments...TD doesnt work in the football department..so wouldnt be impacted by the professionalism or otherwise of the football department..

I get that Donald doesn't have to justify, but if he wants to bring investors in they might say "we only come in if you are going to do *insert demand*". If Donald wants to keep his shares and be passive he might find no one is prepared to invest. Disappointing if it isn't takeover related mind, just losing another good person with no upside, great

indeed. but SD could simply say @i will do what michael dell does" and leave it at that, or he could say chairman.
point is, people are assuming MSD dont rate our current owners, when evidence suggests otherwise.

Ah god, don't say that. A good bloke, who is an MLF, was a coup to get to the club and seems to have been doing a canny job isn't the sort you want to lose. If it's to help facilitate investment that's fine but if not it's very worrying indeed

I wouldn't necessarily say it was a coup, he got a massive upgrade in title at least and did it at the club he supports.

Either way, it doesn't look good as he was quite friendly with the owners and if anything, to me it suggests all is not rosey behind the scenes.

He's me mate's relative, I've txtd me mate to find out but he says they dinnit really speak to that side of the family... told him he has failed me  .He's getting in touch with his Ma to see if she knows owt
