Our owners and recruitment

Terrible decisions, awful recruitment. Only thing they got right is the red seats. Cant believe Mr Hills decisions what is his vision? We needed strength, creativity and pace in the summer it was so obvious. Could of done with some much needed motivation with the new manager but looks like its going to be Parkinson.
Dry your eyes mate

My mind changes daily, but of all the apparent top targets I think I’d be happy with any of them. They’re all very good managers for this level.

I thought it would be Cook initially as he ticks so many of the boxes we were supposedly looking for. If it is Parkinson it will be interesting to see how he copes with being favourites in the majority of game. He seems to have been doing a decent job at Bolton against the odds - got them promoted on a shoestring , kept them up against the odds etc.

Its a different thing entirely being not only expected to win most games but also to do it in style.

I think most will be unhappy

This.

The rest of the list you could argue about who might be a better fit.

Parkinson was the only one I thought would be an absolute nonstarter and the obvious 'no'.

If that is who stu wants, god help us.

He must know he'll be on a short leash with supporters with that appointment... Or maybe he hasn't a clue??

We do have the biggest budget in League 1. It's three times the size of the league average. Just because some folks heard the words "transfer budget" rather than "budget" doesn't mean that's what it meant.

SD never hinted at a takeover at all. He never suggested that he was looking for anything other than investment. Just because he brought some potential investors to the stadium to show them around doesn't mean they're definitely taking over. Would you spend millions investing in a company without seeing that company for yourself first hand?

Your "fans fault" comment is laughable. I'm a fan and I didn't take it that way, so it's certainly not my fault. Please don't lump me in with the folks that don't have enough of a grasp of the English language to be able to understand the things SD has said.

There has always been a range of possibilities. Nothing's ever been set in stone and SD has never suggested it was. It's not SD's fault that some folks have run off the deep end with their assumptions.
Amazing how you picked up on exactly what the 'words' really meant when it was much easier for others to pick them up the way they were 'shaped' to get fans on board the bandwagon of hope

Well that's what happens when you listen to the actual words rather than the hysteria spread by those that didn't listen properly.

I think all of us who go to the games want especially our home games is a manager who just goes for it instead of cagey boring negative shite.

We are at home playing in front of 30000 most weeks we should be bossing games ffs
It's been a long time since we dominated anyone chuckles, you would have thought that the owners would know what 30k paying fans want....

Get it wrong Stewart and there wont be anywhere near 30k next season....fact...

Actually my fear is that Donald might go for SKP or Keane because they'd be perceived as popular appointments. I think both would be mistakes and Keane inexcusable.
Like most I'd see Parkinson as a bland choice.
.
If have Keane back in a heartbeat. It would end in tears but probably with us two divisions higher.
It's almost like they don't want us to get promoted
If they appoint Parkinson this is actually the conclusion I’d come to as I would think it’s sll about money and they don’t want to spend any.

Sentimental .

He’s not the same person and the Aurora he had round him disappeared years ago. That was the only thing he had going for him when he was at Sunderland

If it's renowned anti-football Parkinson, just when they know that everyone thought Ross was too negative, want to see us have a go, and could do with a lift, then they'll really have to hope it works out. Another poor decision will convince a lot of people that they need to go. Obviously their decision, I'll support whoever it is, but after Ross, the recruitment team being a bit shit and us not going up last season they're looking decidedly average/ poor on the football side of things. This manager needs to do the business for them
Well said mate. If the supposed list is correct he would be Fifth out of five. Rather Stendel or Pearson/Phillips. Parkinson seems about as inspiring as Ross (god help us). Sure of one thing, the wrong appointment could be the end for a fair number of fans. Seen em come and go over sixty years but never been so low as we are at the moment. Lincoln was rock bottom-would hate to see much worse.

In that case is Parkinson the best man to do that? Never averaged above 42% win rate and that was back in 2003-06 we need well above that to get promoted. His style of football is also as negative if not more so than Ross'
Dinnar but hes done it before and it probly the cheapest option
