Nigel Pearson with Phillips assistant

This is a shit sandwich situation really isn't it?

If we'd sacked Ross with new investors on board and a hopeful future we'd be discussing all sorts of candidates of a decent caliber, from all kinds of leagues. But now, we're facing a shit sandwich that no one wants to eat....

There aren't any realistic stand out candidates for the job because no one with any sense (or proven quality) wants to come here to scrape free agents in January and to try and grab a last minute playoff spot with the potential of getting sacked if any new investors actually do come along.

Then those that are linked and/or are available pose a huge risk as they either haven't actually achieved anything, like Ainsworth or they have zero management experience, like Phillips...while others are just abseloutly gash, a la Steve McClaren

Would be my preferred option.

Pearson did very well with Leicester, and Phillips would be a boost for the crowd.

Issue is I highly doubt Pearson would come anyway, and Phillips would probably not want the assistant role

Rowett has turned US down? What job Is he expecting, Real Madrid?!

No but perhaps it reveals the attractiveness of the position in terms of salary, support staff, finance available and control. The job can be a career grave yard.
