James hunter apparently reckons the fans have unrealistic expectations

At no point have I used this as a defence for Ross. Where I disagree with many is the opinion that our players are so much better than those of other teams at this level, and that it is simply Ross holding them back from a comfortable top 2 spot. If Ross is solely responsible for recruitment (I have no idea how much input he has in this area) then yeah, it’s all his blame. But seriously, watch our players, how good do you really think they are?
Individually pretty good must have at least half a dozen who have won promotion from this level before and at least as many again who have played higher up the pyramid for long periods. Grigg has been the most prolific striker at this level for years, Mcgeady has to be one of the best players ever to play In league one and is the most expensive. We have had a cat 1 premier league academy for 10 years.

Like who? Barnsley and Charlton both had new bosses start of last season and Luton changed in january. Ipswich have a new boss this summer. You are talking shite mate
So changing your manager like we have and bringing in 8-10 players every year hasn’t contributed to our downfall?
It’s you who is talking shite mate.

I not sticking up for the manager here, but I think our squad is fairly poor, no one bit of pace and we don’t look like we have a striker capable of 10 plus goals
Prior to coming here Grigg and Wyke between them have had 5 15+ goal seasons at this level

Fancy a job?

So which other teams at this level have better players then?
Not being funny, serious question, do you go to many of the games? Every time I watch us play I don’t see that we have better players than the opposition. We certainly have zero pace and are weak as water. Rotherham game in particular was a strange one. We looked on top early on but they then bossed the shit out of us the last hour. Their players looked way better than ours that last hour. Our midfield regularly looks 2nd best, and as for our strike force! Hope McNulty comes good.

Not sure if people have unrealistic expectations. Everyone I know thinks that if we don't get some money in asap were expecting to stay in league one for yet another season of crap footie except this time without any names in the squad at all.

I barely see games when the opposition players look better than ours. Fitter ? Certainly.

Every match I've watched in the last two seasons has had passages of play where I thought 'wera the better team, just like people said!' but every single match has been a slog. Exception being Wimbledon recently.

At the moment they don’t look like they will get 5 between them
So do we take the view that both have got freakish form relative to their recent history in this league ... or could it just be that we have a manager who can’t get the best out of his players ? Max Power was great at this level for Wigan, crap now. McLaughlin great at Fleetwood, crap here. Willis good at Coventry, poor here ......

Can’t agree individually, think most are bog standard at this level. What players have done in the past means nowt to me, I’ll judge on what I see. Grigg had a genuine open goal on his home debut with keeper stranded, and he inexplicably failed to hit the target. He couldn’t have had the confidence sucked out of him at that early stage! Sometimes players just don’t have what they once had. Have his legs gone, or did he never have any? Agreed re McGeady, he’s the only one for me though. And he can be frustrating as hell. Again, sorry to labour the point, but general lack of pace and power cannot be overlooked in this debate.

Said on the latest RR podcast I'm reading on Twitter....

Who mentioned 100 points? Who mentioned 20 clean sheets? Who came out and said there was no excuses this time? It wasnt the fans james...

Also the same journalist who questioned why the fans thought we had money to spend. Maybe because the week before the owner said on a podcast we did and had bids out.

Fans fault again though? Pisses me right off honestly.
What a knob head

He is singing the same song as the manager, f***ing pathetic. If he was reporting on the mags and had written that he would have been sacked

Fuck off James Hunter, if you think its realistic for 30,000 supporters, in league 1 to accept the shit the club are serving up, you need another f***ing job

Aye, passages. Also been passages in most games we have looked 2nd best. Last season we dominated a grand total of 3 games at home imo - Scunthorpe, Rochdale and Doncaster.
