SAFC Takeover Latest

This has gone on too long.
It feels that way because we're following it intensely. Donald said another 1to 2 weeks last weekend.

We've also had snippets of info from here and podcasts that we think are connected to the club ( doesn't look like it ) with RR. And also nick Barnes has said about it. As have various other journalists, social media etc.

So let's be a little bit patient and see what next week brings.

There must be so much to get through with what's happened to us over the last 5 yrs.

The players and managers we've owed is scandalous. f***ing millions upon millions of pounds have floated out through the stadium of lights front doors for years. Rodwell must be top 3 .

All the managers have spent shit loads on shite. Not to mention the directors of football and former CEO's of the club. They must've pocketed a canny wedge from us.

Ellis short must be crying himself to sleep every night. What a f***ing joke.

Then the new takeover happened with all that entailed. Debt written off ? Where the parachute payments have gone etc.

I also wonder, are they drawing plans up for the club in the short and long term? And want to wait until these plans are ready to announce in a PC. Monorail 🤔

Be a big blow if it doesn't go through now. It's gone on too long now for it to collapse imo.

Nobody in this thread has ever bought a house, clearly. Or a sandwich to be honest.
A bloke walks into a bar and sees a sign hanging over the bar which read: Cheese Sandwich: £1.50, Chicken Sandwich: £2.50, Hand Job: £10.00

Checking his wallet for the necessary payment, he walks up to the bar and beckons one of the three exceptionally attractive blondes serving drinks to an eager-looking group of men.
“Yes?” she enquires with a knowing smile, "can I help you?"
I was wondering, whispers the man, "are you the one who gives the hand-jobs?"
"Yes", she purrs, "indeed I am."
The man replies "Well go and wash your f#cking hands, I want a cheese sandwich!"

I don't understand your exasperation. I don't "grasp" that isn't worth their time due to it being based on because these people are rich, they don't wish to make a small profit.

As for the valuations on those clubs, do you see a line of buyers for the mags? How much exactly do you think they would have to lose to get us to the standard of Leicester?

I don't think this argument has been thought through.

These two clubs are now making the owners profit tho.

How long has this been going on
How long has this been going on
Well, your friends
With their fancy persuasion
Don't admit that it's part of a scheme
But I can't help but have my suspicion
'Cause I ain't quite as dumb as I seem
And you said you was never intending
To break up our scene in this way
But there ain't any use in pretending
It could happen to us any day
How long has this been going on
How long has this been going on
Oh, your friends
With their fancy persuasion
Don't admit that it's part of a scheme
But I can't help but have my suspicion
'Cause I ain't quite as dumb as I seem
Ooh, you said you was never intending
To break…
That's Ace

I made a Sunderland clock for my GCSE in woodwork in the old ship design. I would need a Masters in Professional Crafts and Fine Woodworking in order to produce todays effort.
So you believe we should revert to ship design because current one is too difficult to reproduce in wood:lol:...
...I know you didn’t say that :D

These two clubs are now making the owners profit tho.

It's possible to make a profit in the premier league, I'm not 100% on either club's finances but what I think the point being made was, was that the way to make money would be to increase the value without any thought of the cost of increasing the value.

I don't think there has ever been a better time to be a well ran club In the premiership, If you can successfully implement a buy to sell strategy, then its a goldmine. I have no idea why Redbull haven't done it, I would have thought they would make a mint.

Yeah but you're talking as a Sunderland fan. In terms of using a badge as part of a "brand" (yes, I hate that kind of term as well but we might have to get used to it), most people who like football and have followed the top flight globally over the last decade or so would have no or very little knowledge of the ship badge, they likely wouldn't link it with anything, they might know it's an old Sunderland badge but that's about it. Show anyone the current one and, especially after Netflix, it will be instantly recognisable as the badge of that shit lot who got relegated twice. Slightly older fans might associate it with record low points totals. Very few outside of Sunderland would link it with much in the way of success, so if they want to come in, clean sweep, raise standards etc, taking the opportunity to get rid of a badge that is synonymous with failure might not be a bad move
I am not discussing the wish to change the badge. I am taking issue with you branding it (ie the last 22 years) as a failure. Personally (glass half full) the SOL era has moved us from being a 2nd tier club that might get promotion to a top flight club that might get relegated. You obviously see that time differently (glass half empty).
