Companies have to file things publicly. You can do the same for any company that is currently incorporated.

Absolutely 100% this. I know a few people at the club quite well through my work, and I’ve met the current owners countless times. Yet anytime I post anything it’s the same faces forming a queue to disagree with anything said just for the sake of it, and as you rightly say, jealousy appears to be their motive.

I'm just going to use it to mean "really good" and see if my missus notices or just accepts it.
"How was your week away with work then?"
"Ah it was fine, best thing was the meal I had on Tuesday night mind, it was absolutely pure river slut, just so well cooked"
