SAFC Takeover Latest

If it falls through because of SD it'll because the potential buyers, having been through DD decide to offer some paltry amount.

But it sounds like its past all that now and the hold up is that after going through the whole club top to bottom , the new owners are trying to get people in to replace those they are about to say goodbye to.

Including Stewart Donald

If its true about o’brien being appointed it would be an odd time to do so if a takeover was in the balance plus given what sd tweeted this morning suggests hes already agreed a deal

The fact they dont have the money and people are getting fed up with league one/jack ross.

Plus the resentment over losing this takeover.
And?

They walk away and we go bust? They find an investor to take the club off our hands? They ignore the fans and keep on doing what they are doing?

My point is simple, and I said it with short, we, the normal fans, have no power to influence the owners, just look at the scum, they detest cashley and can do sweet fuck all about him, we’re in exactly the same boat as everybody else, we can’t force the owners to do anything, football now is just a mega money game where we’re simply an interested party with not a jot of influence.

So, and I’m not trying to be argumentative, but what does the beginning of the end mean, practically in your opinion?

If that's your opinion fair play mate

But id be amazed if we hear a quick development over the next 10 days. SD has tweeted that for a reason. If it was near done he'd have probably gave a professional answer then maybe winked at the end

SD is helping the fans who thought it was done because it still has a lot of work to go through

Like Managers when they say a deal for a player is far from being complete then they sign the next day

People will shine more of a spotlight on the failings at the club. Recruitment has been shite, acceptance of failure in league one. Donald said if people made it clear they didnt want him hear he would go.

Imagine if may came and we lost in the playoffs again... no money, ross still here and no takeover.

This dell thing will happen because he knows the backlash would be huge now

Agree, but the backlash will get us nowhere is my point, we have to take what we’re given m8, imo, we can’t influence whether sd stays / goes, sells / retains, closes us / lets us trade.

So let’s hope we either get taken over or results continue to come.

Nope. Below is exactly what you said, I replied to that saying that they were in Romanos, which is true. If they didn't get here in jets they might have got the bus but doubt it. BTW our lass is finishing off the carpet now and putting a date stamp on it.
"I seen him say there was 2 private jets coming over about a month ago, one stopping off in London and the other direct to Newcastle. That didn't happen."

Soz mate. I'd had a late one.
What are you not understanding? He said that AFTER they had already been here and had their meal. They were here on 24th August. Riv said the private jets were booked for Friday 6th. This didn't happen, which you know.

“Beginning of the end for the current owners if the takeover fails” you say?
Are you going to buy them out at that point?
Are you saying that a debt free Club like Sunderland with crowds of 20,000+ wouldn’t have the resources to gain promotion at some point from League 1?

You know what I mean.

The best we can hope to be under the current regime is probably like Sheffield Wednesday. They’ve (the owners) more or less acknowledged they haven’t really got the resources to push further. That’s kind of been shown with our recruitment at this level. I’m not sure we have the correct people in position with the ability or imagination to take us further than that without significant financial investment. Again, our recruitment points to that.
