its a massive multi million pound deal, they take time and things change day by day. They haven’t spent a fortune on legal costs and registered a new company unless they were confident of completing

100% - there is no rush on this thing and clearly the new guys are going through the club with a fine toothcomb. That can only be a good thing. SD and CM steadied the ship, now the new guys can hopefully take us forward into a new era

Exactly, he cant stick his neck out and say its done as no one would believe him if it did fall through. Think we all just need to relax, despite how exciting it could potentially be.

Its a trade off. Do we want an owner who is overly diplomatic and doesnt let anything slip? Or one whos as open as possible like Stewart is? I think we're very lucky to have the openess that we do. Stewarts said himself in the past that he's still a football fan aswell so he gets excited like we do.

Thing is I've actually stuck up for him before, sometimes I've seen him make decent posts when he's not being a dick. Replies like that, however, are just pointlessly antagonistic. For something like whether Donald deserves thanks from the fans there obviously isn't a right or wrong answer. I think he does, he came in when we were at a low ebb, he's done good work to get us financially secure to the point where investors like these are interested when previously they'd have run a mile. I don't think it's just cost cutting either, firstly he's given us a squad that should, imo, be good enough to go up (for the second season in a row) and also through the fan engagement stuff he's helped keep attendances high which again will be partly what's attracted the investors. He's done all this hard work without taking a wage and whilst getting stick from a fair number of supporters (including some which sounds well beyond what is acceptable).

For me, you can't read that and say he 100% doesn't deserve anyone's gratitude for the work he's put in. On the other hand I'm not daft and I can see why some wouldn't be impressed; ultimately we failed last season, the squad isn't any (or certainly not significantly) better and we didn't spend much, so there's a risk we might not go up which would be a financial disaster if we aren't taken over. On top of that the buck stops with him where the manager is concerned and he's backing Ross which, personally, I think is wrong. I'm still not convinced he'll pay the parachute money back and certainly feel it was a bit out of order that they never mentioned using it to buy the club (just that it was security for Short in case they didn't keep up with payments).

That's what most reasonable people can do, they can have an opinion but respect that there are other, equally valid, opinions and discuss them like adults. The rat seems about the worst on here for not considering anyone else might have a point, and it isn't "can't really agree with that because..." it's just "that's bullshit". What kind of a way is that to talk to someone? If he speaks that bluntly and disrespectful to people he doesn't know when discussing SAFC in a pub he'll have taken his share of knocks in his time, but something tells me he's probably fine in person, just thinks he can act the big man on an internet forum
