I’m fairly resigned to another season at this level already. If we spend that time sorting out the way the football side of the business is run I’ll be happy enough with that tbh. If we roll the dice in ever increasing attempts to get this lot up this season, I reckon it’ll probably hurt us in the long run.
Excellent cabbo 100 per cent, rolling the dice with this present manager and recruitment team would be torture.I think the new owners cant do much in jan window and may think of waiting till they all leave end of contract in summer. We need a complete clearout or as you say it will hurt us in long run

The McKays are horrible bastards and it all looks very murky. However, BSA has been friends and worked with them for years. I think it would be very naive to think that any of their behaviour would now come as a surprise to him.
I'm not saying its a surprise - i was told he had backed off because they were linked to some legal stuff

I'm not doubting the legitimacy of it - what I'm getting at is that it costs nowt to register a business so the financial side of doing so isn't a factor in whether the deal goes through or falls apart. You could blow the cost of registering a company on a round of drinks in Sunderland, it's not expensive.

Do you think blokes with their reputation would want to be publicly linked with a takeover failing, after doing that?

Thanks for the explanation.

6 years would put us back in the middle of MB's tenure? No wonder it's taking time.....
But surely the due diligence would have already been done as far back as 7 years ago, as it was done only last year when SD took over. So realistically it should only been on the last year of the club. However if it's done on the new owners, to stop the likes of Bolton and bury happening, that could take some time as the MSD have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies, I would speculate.

I'm pretty sure SD has said his dd was completed in a hurry and it was only after they took over they found some historical issues

I remeber him saying they did it in 2 weeks working all hours, the issues they found I think he managed to knock any cost off the bill he owed Ellis, such as the alverez case.

But there's no rush to get this complete, it's not the beginning of a season and they have everything in place anyway, it would just be a change of ownership, so I can see them taking their time

It maybe the takeover has run into snags? Or the Dell boys are having second thoughts and want an excuse not to proceed?
And there's me thinking the weather was the only thing to dampen my week... seriously though, IF in the unlikely event it didnt proceed, I think a large number of us would like to know the details as to what (if anything) was uncovered. Although I doubt we'd ever know.

I'd take Gareth Ainsworth and quite happily shithouse our way out of it. We're so naive at times. It feels like the club needs a fire lighting under it.
It's scary that Pompey and Sunderland could soon be fighting it out for Gareth Ainsworth...

So without scrolling through last couple of days posts is it ON or OFF??

ON

But unfortunately for a few senior members of non playing (or coaching) staff, they’re off. That’s what taking the time to sort. Whilst we’re all excitedly hoping for a new beginning, some of these people are probably feeling quite the opposite and having to negotiate redundancies.
