SAFC Takeover Latest

Not sue about halved but I agree significant numbers would think twice about renewing for another season in L1.
Last season was something of a novelty but the novelty has certainly worn off.

I think one issue they'll have is that I'm sure the 3 year price freeze ends after this season. I'm sure it was introduced when we went to the championship. Depending on what happens for the rest of the season and what the new owners plans are, they might have a bit of trouble if they're raising prices for a decent percentage of our season card holders at a time where, if we aren't careful, we'll look like stagnating in league one. Hopefully the takeover goes through, Ross leaves, football improves and we go up, but if not there will be a bit of worry about numbers next season I'd imagine. We won't go down to 15000 mind!

Big difference between administration and receivership
But wouldn't want my club involved in either
Unless your a fan of League two
True It happened to leicester and southampton..where are they now ?If it had happened under short when we were in the premiership i do doubt that we would be any worse of than we are now!I do get your point about the penalties involved but i dont get the blind hero worship of don and co by some one here,Yes they have don a fair to middling job on the financial side but have been a complete failure on the footballing side and some folk need to take their blikers off!

This is the second year of the price freeze - one more year left

We will sign players next year for the championship and have great crowds

if the takeover takes place.

Pretty sure we were getting a minimum of about 18k on the gate when I first started going in the mid 90s under Butcher & Buxton and those weren't exactly glamorous days.

I hear what you're saying, and suggestions of last-minute price adjustments would make me twitchy. However, Donald knows that, in terms of what it means for the club going forward, he'll never get another offer as good as this one. If he lets it fall by being over stubborn, his reputation with the supporters will be shot to pieces. As he owns 80% of Madrox, the decision is his; the other two don't own enough shares to make a difference. He'll take any deal that lets him cover what he's put in, and hope for profits in future. The Americans are very much in the driving seat here; there's no indications of them wanting to walk away, so I think this will go through.

He owns 74%...needs one of the other two's approval

Far from it. Donald knows they walked away when Mike played silly buggers. He won't want that happening, because if it falls through now the backlash will be huge.

I’ve kept away from this new thread as I’m just waiting for it to happen so I’m not up to speed with everything. What’s the Mike Ashley crack?

Don’t underestimate the impact this has on these lads. They aren’t all set for life like the premier league players. These lads want stability and need contracts.

Surely that means they are far more incentivized to play well and earn better contracts elsewhere or at all.

Ah that's canny then, I was thinking this was the last year, result! I remembered it was introduced before Donald and co came in, but forgot we were renewing well before the end of the season. That should help keep numbers decent

Still confident itwill go through, but you wouldn't be human or a sunderland fan if you weren't edgy a little bit

really hope its delayed as yanks just doing their job and going over with a fine tooth comb

not donald and his mates getting greedy

Its taking a while like, despite what people say

I thought the price freeze was brought in by the new owners, i.e. Donald and co, not the Dell boys

Not for a sale of an investment - it's not one of the categories requiring one. Selling an asset is matter requiring a simple majority.

They were close to buying the Mags, and he played silly buggers at the last minute trying to get the price up. The Yanks found out and pulled the deal.

Excuse my ignorance and i’m not doubting GOM posts and i’m grateful for them but I thought over a week ago it was just a case of the FA giving us the all clear?? Surely if there is issues with due diligence then we aren’t as advanced with the takeover as we thought?

the reality is, him and the likes of Reiver have absolutely no idea whats going on

how could they?

Wish people would stop taking the word of posters on a message board as gospel like

We sometimes/often got less than that under Reid in the top flight iirc.
