As mentioned, it would be an offence to do it. It would also be a waste of time unless the whole thing was a wind up, which we know it isn't since the new owners have been at a game. And someone on Twitter was laughing about the "new castle" bit on companies house saying it was yet more shithousery from us (or similar) and Stewart Donald liked it, so he knows it's been set up and hasn't said "that's bollocks".
 
Phil Smith from the echo on Twitter says Sunderland are ‘ on the eve of a potential take over’ I don’t know if that means it’s happening tomorrow. I’m probably clutching at straws and reading too much into it.

However, it could have been set up with good intentions and the new owners might decide not to proceed.

It was 'imminent' a couple of weeks ago.....

and has been on the FA's desk with everything agreed for about a month.
