I can only assume that’s based upon how they do in training when he doesn’t encourage our front six to attack

Based on my playing years I’m of the firm opinion that defending is MOSTLY about how the unit is organised and led. Our unit isn’t. We do need clean sheets though. People saying we don’t are weird. It’s like saying you want to be better off and spending more. If you want more points you work on scoring more AND conceding less.

I couldn't give a fuck what he says, what happens on the pitch is all that matters and 5 clean sheets out of 25 is abysmal.

I’m not really bothered what he says in the press, it’s what changes on the pitch that he should be judged on. Right now, there are things that absolutely need to change. Passing accuracy is number 1. To be able to pass consistently to our own players will make a huge difference to the pressure on the defense. I really cant understand why these players seem to be so poor at something that is the basics of the game they are paid very well to do.

And there's nothing wrong with what he's saying.

The stats he knows....hence what he's saying.

It's all to do with training methods.
Remember when Poyet came in and wanted to play posesion based football, didn't take long and we were knocking it about like Brazil.

We’re 4th in terms of shots against but 11th in terms of goals conceded meaning that teams need fewer shots to score against us.

The defence he’s been working on since the summer is worse than last season.
