I really hope this 'were going to buy them and bought us' line is true. It will sting them when the story comes out but the vast majority of the thick bastards won't see it at the time. The great value thing about this is that should we develop in the way we hope we will, the sting will happen again and again, getting worse and worse with every step of progress we make. The could be getting bites on their arses for a decade or more. They'll always think it could have been them. It's magical this mind.

Again.. been here 2 years.

But have you read any of the “Takeover Rumour” thread which had over 2 million views and thousands of posts, many of which centred on Reiver’s disclosures and on-going updates regarding the takeover. The “Rumour” thread was locked and this thread opened when notification of the registration of a new Holding Company for SAFC LLC and Registered Office of The Stadium of Light, established by the 3 American investors.

Never start a statement with the word but... It's ugly.

Doing pretty well. I tire more easily, and standing for prolonged periods isn't that good for me (which is why I like to be able to sit at matches at least some of the time). I find the day after a long awayday is a bit of a writeoff. But overall, I'm thankful to have got off comparatively lightly.

All the best, your a good poster and decent member on here, take it easy marra ;)
And tell reiver i miss him ;) :D

Kick in the teeth ....

If I spelled things out, and named names, this post/thread would be deleted. Hopefully I've written it in a way that only the 'terminally dim/wilfully argumentative' can misinterpret. There won't be any follow up posts and you'll either get/believe it or not.
I was going to leave this until the right man, at the club, leaked it as he's promised to do when the time is right. However, if I do that, people will claim my previous vague posts were wild guesses. If I'm guessing I say so, if I'm passing on gossip/rumour I say so, if I post as fact I say so, like the fact that the takeover deal was definitely done weeks ago but that not even the current/new owners know the date of the announcement ... even now.

Some people mix up opinion, rumour, guesswork and fact .... usually deliberately.

So here it is and I'll bet the story comes out 'officially' after the takeover is announced.
The 'Dell boys' have been looking, for some time, to buy an English club to develop and leave a legacy for years to come. They looked at Newcastle, some time ago as is well known. Apparently that progressed a fair way before the asking price didn't budge due to Ashley's intransigence and belief that the club was worth it. No doubt they cast their eyes over a variety of clubs but were ready to buy Newcastle for a better price if Ashley would compromise. Move on a while and the boys are back in town looking for action. They go back to a club they've previously looked at as it's available and making no progress. Negotiations progress and become serious up to the point whereby a very good offer is put firmly on the table. 'Knowing smiles and nods are exchanged' and it seems a deal can be done. The seller's greed, however, pushes him into a 'clever ruse' and a rival bidder appears from nowhere, reported by some absolute random. Surely those free spending Dell boys will race back to rescue the deal and up their offer!!!

Errr well no actually, they decide to put their billions into a more long term but friendlier, more honest, project and reward those people they saw crying on Netflix. The Red Bull rumours may well have also had an effect and alerted Dell. The other club, who must remain nameless, are left exactly where they were and with no plausible way out. Mysteriously their 'buyer' vanishes and is never seen again, almost as if he was never there. The random reporter slinked away as well and it's not known how much, and by whom, he was paid ... but, of course, this is all fantastical nonsense, this is big business and no one would try to pull a stunt that stupid would they?

Let's get this right.

What your saying is when I was at my lowest ebb sitting in my hotel in Wembley after the play off final defeat when the news came through that the mags were being bought by a mega rich sheikh, this was actually the catalyst for the most incredible change in fortunes in our entire history as opposed to being an utter and complete disaster?

Bloody marvellous 😎😎😎

I remember waking up, ridiculously hungover and gutted then, hearing about the "Sheikh" really cheered me up no end.
This would be some beautiful poetic justice

I'm not counting my sour grapes before they hatch. Only when the new owners are unveiled is when I may raise a chuckle.

To me, if they were prepared to buy the mags, this says that they aren't merely in it to get us up to the prem, and then sell for a profit. Buying the mags for £350 million, they would have to have invested at least half a billion to get them competing near the top of the league. And getting them competing near the top of the league would have been the only way they could make a worthwhile profit on a purchase price of £350 million.
That coupled with the fact that there are other clubs they could have bought suggests that they aren't worried about the fact we are in league one, and it could take a few years to get into the prem - again, only my opinion, but this says that they are in this for the long term, and not a short term flip job.

They are not gonna say we are minted so ask what ya want for players jn jan
Agree fella !But there is a difference between a ownership group worth billions who are adding our club to their portpholio as a speculative investment ,keeping us in profit and hoping it grows to a group worth billions with a legacy plan willng to spend the cash on sucess!at this point in time we dont know which it is and some of the stories on here are fantastical

Agree but they cant do much in the short term, and they will need to do something or they wont make any money here.Ya right mind about some of our lot getting carried away, its been shit for so long we need to dream

well i for one have been expectingit every day since th als t shirt takeover farrrago!
Mate you probs a canny lad but every post you do is really hard to read .Im guessing most people like me just skim the first sentence of your posts ,see all the full stops and that then think fuck it ...

I very rarely see anyone like your posts and I think it’s due to the above.Calm down ,breath and think before you post .

Cheers.

Sustainability is exactly you want to here from new owners, that has nothing to do with pushing for promotion
Your right but and its a big but we wont get anywhere without significant investment .The don is using the sustainability model at the moment and were treading water in both footballing and financial terms ....If the new owners are not willing to put a significant amount of money in we will be treading water for years to come and to say otherwise is idiotic! The club needs a kick start both psychologically and financially, everybody knows this weve tried every other model from dortmund to calamity ,its about time we created our own model of success based on sustained investment with a fekking plan!
