Takeover Rumours

Jack Ross sounded really fkd off in his interview today. didn't take too kindly to being told they didn't have the best perormance but still won. Also said he's sick of coming out and being professional to answers from the press. I do think he struggles with the size of the club and the critisism that you get. it's to be expected. get on with it.
Thing is with this club, the players he got, the resources he’s been given to work with and the facilities he has then being one of the best isn’t good enough. No one is calling for his head at games, chanting negative songs at him but he can’t expect fans of this great club to be happy at struggling past teams like Stanley or Rochdale. It’s not enough to just do enough here when we’re at this level. If this was the championship he’d be given more slack but we’re on the back of our worst ever league finish and don’t look much better this season. How can he expect people to be content with that.

I think after struggling in the PL for years then finally getting relegated, then relegated again, then finishing 5th in League 1, some reality is probably needed. There’s a number of posters on this board who have been wrong for years...they have this strange romanticism about following a club that struggles and underachieves...it’s a sickness.
Pretty much this.

What’s the point in posting what you hope? It should go without saying as SAFC supporters that we hope for the best when it comes to the club.

Why not just post what you think based on what you see? I think some people think it makes them less of a fan if they criticise in anyway.

I’m deemed as a negative overly critical cock end on here (the cock end bit may have some legs actually) but when I’m at the match I’m not shouting and abusing players or moaning and groaning at the first stray pass I watch the game and try to take in what’s going on in front of me then give an honest opinion on it good or bad.

At the very least, the club would be getting something out to calm things down a bit. The total radio silence for over a week suggests to me that one side or both felt that a bit too much was getting into the public domain too early - (although it wouldn't be helpful to open all that up again now), and that heavy duty NDAs have been slapped on all concerned. When this is announced, they'll want all the immediate post-acquisition building blocks in place for maximum impact. In situations like this, silence is golden.
This. Reiver implied that these lads will want to announce something with big long-term consequences, and that might take some organising. You also mentioned that the legal bods like to scrutinise every comma, and we know that at least one cold case has bobbed up to the surface. In the circumstances, I'm taking radio silence as a good thing.
On the other hand, it's my birthday on Wednesday, and the confirmation would make a nice prezzie!;)

I think he gets a lot of harsh stick considering results wise we are doing ok. The fact he’s still coming in for criticism after wins when we’ve had the likes of Coleman getting smoke blown up his arse by fans/the press when we were losing every week is bizarre. After a slow start we’ve won 6/7 in all comps.

Jings, if he can't take the heat in League 1 ...

This for me. He's struggling with the size of the club and the expectations a club this size has at this level. Not that we're a gigantic club or anything but at this level, dong just enough to edge past teams isn't enough. Doesn't matter what situation he inherited last summer, finishing anything less than champions this season is failure. Last season was a failure and still would have been even if we had beaten Charlton. Thats why I wanted him gone regardless of the result against Charlton. I honestly don't think we will finish top 2 under Ross.

God help him if we make it to the Championship because the pressure only intensifes the higher up you go.

I think it’s probably because you can’t put across your “realist” view without including a snidey pop at our fans. You go to such ends to ensure everyone knows you have an opposing view that you just come across as an antagonistic wind up account.

I haven't seen today's interview but some of the questions he fields in press conferences are enough to test the patience of a saint. Typically, the fust journalist asks an inane question, which Ross politely answers. The fust journalist then gans through his prepared sequence of equally inane questions, which Ross also answers with politeness. The second journalist then starts off by asking a (slightly rephrased) question already asked by the fust & answered by Ross. It must drive him crackers. I'd be tempted to say "already asked & answered, you tedious dullard" although that might not be regarded as being "polite".

Ok isn’t good enough for Safc in league one that’s why. Coleman got sympathy because he wasn’t given any kind of backing whatsoever. Ross has had three windows and more money to spend than most of league one put together and has got us playing awful football and grinding out results against god awful teams. We’re doing ok thanks to players like mcgeady, maja etc who are too good for this level pulling the odd rabbit out of the hat. We’ve created fewer chances this season than 90% of the other league clubs and he’s still suggesting there’s no problem.

It's a continuation of dull performances thats the problem. We're absolutely turgid to watch and he thinks we're playing well.

Playing some of the worst football I've ever seen following the lads...Its when he 's not doing Okay as we all saw at the back end of last season, he had no motivation left, that's why he should have been peddled then. All this season has shown up to now is that one decent team took us to the cleaners while the rest have been spectacularly poor opposition. Oh, and we've gone behind in most of those games we won or drew games, save for Wimbledon.

I think he just talks shite when put on the spot tbh. He said after the game at the weekend 'when the players have been asked questions they always answer them'. Dropping from 2nd to fifth and throwing away a load and losing at Wembley (again) in a matter of weeks is hardly 'answering questions'
