Sam Allardyce wants return to management with Sunderland as mega-bucks US consortium eye takeover

Because I think we can get better, Keane was great while here but bottled it and couldn't man manage and has flopped everywhere else since, Bruce with Bent and Gyan etc and getting us well away from relegation and in a mostly entertaining way isn't better than what Allardyce did? And I'm the idiot...

It's late, goodnight.

Allardyce was the best football we played in our 10 premier league years. Easily. With far less at his disposal than that fat geordie bastard.

I'm not able to say which English manager has been advising the new owners and, in any case, people wouldn't believe me if I did.
I'd believe you if you told me as I'm sure someone also told me a few weeks ago.

Though if I told you who told me then you wouldn't bereive me ;)

People on here must be right virtuous types, living charitable lives and working for as little money as possible!

You’d think Allardyce was something out of the ordinary in wanting to earn as much money as possible, ffs.
Imagine thinking that people in professional football don’t overwhelmingly go where the money is.

He’d get us straight back up through the leagues, I don’t give a toss about his fiduciary ambitions.
So you would welcome back someone who you think is dishonest? Amazing...

The entire game is dishonest! I think if we knew the half of what went on we’d rapidly lose interest in football and faith in humanity!

It’s Southgate. I believe you! :p
We wont be promoted with JR in the hot seat
Correct.

Imagine being the richest club in the world and being happy with Sam Allardyce ffs. I really hope the new owners have more of a long-term vision for the club than Big Sam.
Who would you want then?

You can have all the chips on the table but you still need to play the hand you've been dealt. Its all about acquiring the right assets for the situation you're in. Currently we're a League One club. It's only because of Allardyce's history here he'd even consider it (even with the money). We would be unlikely to get better at this level, or possibly even the level above. Allardyce would be the best available in my book for a rapid ascension to, and possible even to stabilize us in the Premier League. Is he our Guardiola? No, but he could be our Mancini.
Nah the best football we played was the Poyet great escape. It was good under Allardyce but that brief run under Poyet was something else.
↑This to That↓

Allardyce maximised the teams ability. Poyet's best stuff was the best football we've seen since Reid.

On paper his record towards the end of the season showed he had us very hard to beat and those draws contributed to us staying up but at the time he was getting absolute pelters. Southampton was another. 1-0 up late on against 10 men and he brought a defender on and it cost us a vital 2 points. Considering the abuse Ross gets for draws it’s hilarious how revered Allardyce suddenly is as he was hated for the same reasons barring the last few weeks of the season.

For the vast majority of that time from January onwards, the team was getting better and better. Of course when he took over there was a need to stop the defeats, once he got Kone, Khazri and Kirchhoff in we got better and better each week.

Within three months he’d managed to build a team, put some tactics in place and give the team an identity.

something Ross has failed to do in 15 months.

If Allardyce wanted to come back it’d be a no brainer to take him back imo.

Not available at the moment. Rumours of money coming into the club and he wants the job. Hmmmm wonder why?

I think we will have a new manager in the summer for the Championship. Not sure BSA is the foundation builder we need to push on from there. Tho I do like BSA but he is more of a fire fighter good to prevent relegation.
BSA is past his sell date I loved him at Sunderland very bitter he left thou understood why with our finances in disarray at the time. I would like a manager with a name younger which can grow with us just my opinion. I would keep Ross until we get out of L1 this season.

I hope Ross stays as long as he keeps us going forward. 2 points off top at this stage of the season is fine....he will have targets, and as long as he stays on track, we should keep him.

Do you really want a manager who is simply coming because you are (will be wealthy) and he can line his pockets again?
By the time you are back in the premier league you will surely be able to do better.
My personal opinion. I am grateful to him for keeping us up. I don’t care for the way he bolted at half time during a pre season game.
I wouldn’t have him anywhere near the club.

You echo my sentiments perfectly @Dilligaf60 , regardless of what anyone says Allardyce is a parasite and we’re best off without him.
Morning by the way.
