Takeover Rumours

After lurking and not responding to his post for over 30 hours.... that was what caused people to get pissed off.

Anyway, this is sounding like a wake.

Aye, that was the worst bit. If you've heard bad news by all means pass it on but then there were loads asking about it (especially because he's a respected poster so people were thinking there might be something to it) and for some unknown reason he stayed online reading the replies without ever bothering to expand on it or respond in any manner. That being said, ultimately there was no need to request an account deletion for it! Seems that some take this place far too seriously! A pure WUM deserves a ban, but a decent fan getting something wrong? No need to overreact and leave the message board.

Still, just goes to show how f***ing mad we're all going here, just hope the takeover is confirmed soon, god knows how much worse we'll get!

These "new owners" aren't fans so there has to be a business reason for buying the club.

They aren't going to throw money into the club without the prospect of getting it back and some.

The money in football comes from the fans.
These fellas aren't poor and even if we end up being worth an exaggerated £500m as we got top half of the PL in a few seasons, how much each will they make if they sold us? At most a £100m or so each given they'll have also invested money to get to that stage. These fellas are mega rich so is it really just about the money or is there something else to it? It's nowt to do with footy but I do know that Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has donated around $1.65b helping kids.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation is dedicated to transforming the lives of children living in urban poverty through improving their education, health and family economic stability.

We start by identifying the people and places most in need. We then work closely with our partners to find solutions that combine bold thinking with real-world experiences and hard data. We go directly into communities and learn about families’ struggles and aspirations, then pair those most in need with proven, practical solutions to help them move forward. Since our start, nearly 20 years ago, we have committed more than $1.685 billion to support families across the United States, India and South Africa.

We firmly believe that true progress and transformative, sustainable change are the products of time, hard work, and a willingness to stand shoulder to shoulder with those who live and breathe the challenges we aim to overcome. We know we can’t solve every problem, but with collaboration and determination we can accelerate real progress for real people every day.

@Reiver has hinted at stuff and it may well be that it's more than just signing a few cheques to buy a few expensive players for SAFC and doing little else. Obviously the potential 4 owners won't be helping kids like the MSD Foundation does but maybe they would still like to help 10,000's of people in the area. They could potentially develop the area around the ground and further afield or even work with the council/businesses etc. This may also make them extra money but they'd also be remembered as not only taking a 'sleeping giant' club from the 3rd to 1st division but also helping Sunderland develop into something far better than it currently is and possibly improve it for generations to come!

For some people, the feeling of helping others in less fortunate circumstances is worth more than just trying to make money, especially to a billionaire. The bonus for them is they've got a footy team to watch along their own journey and no doubt SAFC and the 10,000s fans will get under their skin in time and they may well become adopted fans ;)

This post is a bit of a mess but hopefully you get the jist of what I mean.

This is the problem and why people don’t post. Everyone rips them to shit. Loads of people have friends who work at the club. They get information, interesting information, but it’s pointless sharing it because you just get abused and accused of lying. Also, information may be wrong or change very quickly.
^^ This, I notice Reiver is being very careful what he says now as when people ask his OPINION on something, if his OPINION proves not to be the case certain people will take great delight in picking that up. Pathetic really.

It’s an interesting post. I’ve read that they own a team in the USA. Believe it’s American Football. Did they invest in that local community ?

I think Shaun 61 posted in good faith what he’d been told, maybe jumped the gun, but for me he’s enough brownie points on here not to have to pack it in

cant say i knew the lad but i felt it was an honest mistake and as others have said, he was man enough to log in and admit to it, for that alone i reckon (if it can be done of course) that the mods can reinstate him with all his site history... i have seen nothing but praise for the lad and that takes some getting on this site, he deserves his chance i say.

I posted a couple of times following his bombshell post hoping he would explain what he was on about. He should have explained sooner than he did.
I’ve always thought he had links to ALS so took his post seriously.
However, there was no need for him to leave the forum but it was his decision to do so. Like others have said, he was a good poster and a character.
I hope he reconsiders.
Be back as shaun62

Anyway everyone fucks up time to time , held his hands up , no big deal now

I agree with most of this however its natutal for folk to to be picking at everything people post on such an important subject........i have had in the past had lots of information from relatives of players throug my work over the years who tell me things but i never post them because they are second hand and i dont trust the information as things change so quickly in football especially around signing players. If i had seen a whatsap post from a new owner thanking somebody for congratulating somebody for new ownership of the club i would believe it...but the deal might not have been finalised at that point and a glitch could have occurred as furman might be telling friends hes the new owner when the deal is not 100% complete ....anyway her is hoping !

I think they only have a very small percentage of the nfl team so dont have much say
Does anyone know which team?

Even so, I wouldn't be surprised if they do finally takeover and we have some success on the pitch that we then see sort of Foundation/Organisation appear that looks to helps the area in various ways.

It's normal to keep confidential information to yourself. Posting it on a forum such as this, imo is just attention seeking and breaking somebody's confidence to massage your own ego and have a load of idiots licking your arse.

It's normal to want to know things about your club but does it really make a difference if we find things out a few weeks early ?
