You've explained and apologised. No need for anything more. If there's a lesson to learn, it's to stop and think if what you've been told stacks up with everything else you know. I've had a couple of PMs and phone calls in the last few months which were making explosive claims which sounded credible at first, but were total bullshit once I cross-referred to everything else I knew.

Great response. We’ve all made mistakes. We learn from them and move on. It’s over no need for anything else.
