Takeover Rumours

The decision to launch litigation against the old club doctor would definitely be something that would be discussed and potentially hold up due diligence completion.

It also fits within the term 'staffing issues'.

Just saying.
Well, if I was taking over a club I'd want to know everything before I signed anything. These fellas aren't successful by just signing up to something straight away without being thorough.

Massive American TV company headed up by a Billionaire (John Malone) that has diversified into a lot of sports things like the Atlanta Braves and most recently outright ownership of Formula 1. There appears to be a link to MSD Capital - which I'm still trying to figure out, but private investment is often very secret compared to public investment.

Also own Virgin Media.

Agreed, but we are all interested about the takeover, it's the posters calling other posters liars etc. and just being contrary to start an argument that are spoiling it for everybody else. As somebody else said if you don't believe it start your own thread with the title "I don't believe this takeover rumour" and they all can post in there.

All lies.

Thanks mate. Interesting.

Of course the potential investment is great but it is the contacts these lads have as well...hopefully it will make us a global sensation. :)

Yes, although their sporting investments looked very thin initially, this suggested some experience already with a firm very involved in Major League Baseball and Formula 1. OK, so it's not easy to figure out who MSD Capital own outright and who they own a slice of - which is a massive catalogue of household names. But it appears that in the year before Liberty Media bought Formula 1, MSD Capital reported (legally) that they owned a slice of the firm.

I've had a think about it this morning and I think the new owners may have given the go-ahead to start the legal proceedings.

As the club was financially very constrained under Donald, Methven and Sartori then it didn't make any sense getting into a potentially expensive legal battle to hopefully claw back the £13m, but the new owners will have access to a pool of very experienced lawyers who can potentially launch a successful case for minimal cost as an "internal" expense.

Let's say the case costs the new owners £1m with their own to team of lawyers to pursue and the return brings in an extra £12m then they're fulfilling their task of starting to work to a profit.

If Ross thought we had £4m to spend he would have asked for someone better
Someone better? Grigg gas scored 19-20+ goals at this level for years. He's an established 20 goals striker at this level. You know who's not good enough at this level? Jack Ross. Can't wait to see the back of him.

Quite right, however I believe it goes deeper than that.

Interesting - if TV rights do eventually go club by club it's not hard to start joining dots within the overall Dellisphere.

They only own small holdings in these companies - they're investments rather than businesses where they'll have an active say in their management.

Interesting indeed.

Everything crossed for the takeover. This could take the club beyond a level anyone thought possible. Links in with @Reiver 's comments on this thread.

Just get it over the line!! :)

Not just big hitters...massive hitters! :)

It'll be like fishing for tuna .....

... you'll sit there for yonks, get bored then turn away just at the wrong moment

Not had my usual info mate, I'll ask now ...

... he's probably fast asleep with @Freddie the Greek

Ask your mate about the blokes from Oman who are their mates and also another 5 billionaires who can invest as all friends with MSD - also, there is this 'thing' about 'putting sunderland right' between all these rich blokes, stemming from watching Netflix. Sounds like a global cause - and that came from a connect at Man City in Oman.
