Takeover Rumours

I see that now that Reiver has said any announcement looks like being well into next week at earliest, everyone is talking football again. Probably a good thing.

Although the post count on this thread has been extremely high recently, I cant remember a time when the number of new threads was so low. Everyone has been completely focused on the takeover.

Cant imagine why!?!

I'm not. I'm simply saying the recruitment at the club seems to have more to do with the likes of Donald, Coton, and Hill than it does Jack Ross.

Ross told him to leave it at a certain price. Looks like he was a better judge than his chairman.

Only because of the price mate.

If Grigg had come and continued to score goals in this league (like so many times before) we would be praising Donald for backing his manager and putting the money in.

I'd hazard a guess that Donald would have gotten way more shit from fans if he had taken Ross' advice and left the forward line as it was without Grigg.

I you watch the presser in which Grigg had just signed, you could tell Ross was very happy that his boss had went above and beyond to get his target.....it's just a shame it hasn't worked out as everyone had hoped.

Have you ever said to the wife shall we buy something that you want and the wife doesn’t particularly want? The wife reluctantly agrees providing it doesn’t cost more than a certain amount and doesn’t impact your finances......you then go and buy said item and it costs way more than what the wife agreed too without consulting the wife?
What about same sex couples and the gender neutrals ?

Part of the issue with running it on fan consensus.

JR went home on the deadline day when Grigg was signed around 2030hrs instructing SD to forget Grigg....when he walked in house he had phone call from SD telling him to come back as he’d agreed deal......SD signing not JR.

Is this message board sponsored by the BBC these days?

People have created a myth. The facts are there
Fair enough but those things are easy said after the event.

😂😂

We're having this discussion now because somebody claimed Jack Ross went out and spent £5m. It's simply not true. The rest is by the by. Jack Ross did not ask his chairman to go out and spend the money he did on Will Grigg. In fact, he even advised against it, which to be honest I'd even forgotten about 'til those trying to argue otherwise brought it up. Silly buggers.

You wouldn't have had a problem with it if one of this leagues most prolific goalscorers had hit the ground running here.

Moaning about it now because it didn't come happen is utterly pointless and of no use to anyone. Perhaps a better discussion would be to move on to how Ross can get the best out of Grigg?

It looked like a good idea at the time, proven striker at this level ...

.. sadly not even the law of averages is on his side.

If he'd come on a free no one would be that bothered imo.

Said it at the time if that helps.

Perhaps a better discussion should be had by the clubs leader to create a competent strategy as opposed to fans expressing an opinion on tactical setup.

They wouldn't, but that's the point.

That was our money wasted in a blaze of glory that made the clubs journey more difficult.

Aye, Ross was absolutely gutted that Donald went out and got the player he wanted albeit at a higher price :D imagine if every other manager was as thoughtful when it came to targets.

End of the day Ross wanted him and Donald went out and got him...ablor of other managers would have seen that and wished they had an owner like that but because it didn't work out, we're now having a go at the bloke.
