Takeover Rumours

Donald said that Ross wanted Grigg but when the price went up for him Ross told him to leave it and they would just go with what they had. Donald thought he'd get him in because Grigg's record at this level was exceptional and he wanted to back the manager. It's all on the podcasts.

Donald may say too much at times or get a bit carried away with himself but I don't see how you can have a go at him for putting his money on a player that seemed worth the risk. Even a half fit Grigg should be putting goals away but he just doesn't look interested and that's not Stewart Donald's fault.
I'm not. I'm simply saying the recruitment at the club seems to have more to do with the likes of Donald, Coton, and Hill than it does Jack Ross.

Ross told him to leave it at a certain price. Looks like he was a better judge than his chairman.

Thats just one i could find quickly. There are numerous others from both SD and JR about him being the managers number one choice to replace Maja

He was the manager's number 1 choice. There's no argument of that from me.

However, SD overspent on him. SD admitted himself in a podcast that he got carried away/excited at the prospect and kept bidding more.

Neither of them are fully to blame. It was JR's target, it was SD's overspending.

There are numerous others if you can be bothered to find them. The article even says the manager "landed his number one target". They will be lying aswell
No, not saying the papers are lying. I think you're both wrong too.

It will be all of them, I think Donald and Methven have a say, the entire recruitment team and a part of the player to blame too.

I see that now that Reiver has said any announcement looks like being well into next week at earliest, everyone is talking football again. Probably a good thing.

Although the post count on this thread has been extremely high recently, I cant remember a time when the number of new threads was so low. Everyone has been completely focused on the takeover.

Classic inexperience unfortunately. SD Should have known better.

The point is he was a JR signing not one made by the chairman

Have you ever said to the wife shall we buy something that you want and the wife doesn’t particularly want? The wife reluctantly agrees providing it doesn’t cost more than a certain amount and doesn’t impact your finances......you then go and buy said item and it costs way more than what the wife agreed too without consulting the wife?
