Takeover Rumours

I think it was done a while ago to be fair. A lad who used to work for the club who a good few on here know has said its done (was mentioned earlier in the thread). He obviously still knows people at the club and isn't normally a bullshitter when it comes to SAFC so i don't have any reason to doubt him. Then there's RR who suggested it was done (well before the podcast where they're talking as if it's done), ALS printing t-shirts which lets be honest will be one of the biggest own goals in fanzine history if it breaks down. There was a time when everyone seemed to think it was done, including Reiver of course. That leads me to think it was done and that we're either waiting on the EFL or they're tidying up some issue that doesn't affect whether they take over or not.

Worth bearing in mind from the EFL side, people are saying about the length of time it's taking to fully confirm the deal, but remember when Donald and Methven came in it took about this long and, crucially, they said they went through the process without Sartori initially because it would have taken a fair bit longer as he was from abroad, their finances were a lot simpler, especially with all tax paid here etc. These lads have all their business (or most of it presumably) abroad which will take longer for the EFL to approve, and there's 4 of them so again it'll take a while. You'd think, bearing in mind the stature and wealth of them, that it would be a formality but they'll want to make sure they've done it without cutting any corners, so no real surprise if it takes a fair bit longer than Donald and Methven took since they admitted they were easy to process
Nail on the head.

I guess done means different things to different people. Agreeing a price isn't done in my mind. I'm sure there's been an agreement in principle, probably long before Roker Report broke the news.

If that's what others think done means then it's done. For me it'll be done once the new owners own the club.

So, when the deal is done, will there be a witch hunt for the nay sayers, an SAFC civil war if you like, when all the ownership probably craves is unity.

Gonna need two tabs open on Satda afternoon so I can follow the match thread and this one to see which has the most heedtheballs in it.
