Ashes 5 test - The Oval

Its not strange really. He's averaging over 40 against the best bowling attack in the world and currently looks like a test match opening bat - his overall average is improving all of the time. Denly has shown he has guts but still looks short of test class IMO.

Was playing devils advocate really

Good session that bit of luck

I want to see Curran n woakes bat like batsmen when they come in

I get annoyed that their runs are treated like bonus runs or “bailing out” the batsman

They are in the team as all rounders

I can't see him being around for the next Ashes he had pretty much served his purpose for his country.
The bad news is that Carey looks an absolute crackerjack of a player.

Carey looks good in one day stuff not seen much to suggest he will do it over 5 days mind, mainly as he’s not had the Chance mind

Yeah Smith back in charge in months

He reminds me of Gilchrist when he broke into the Aussie one day teams but they stuck with Healy as test keeper. Once Gilchrist got in he brought a new dimension to the Test side.

People need to calm down with this lad

He’s doing no more than ok, and he can’t play the short ball for toffee

Not sure how successful he’s gonna be
