Takeover Rumours

They are the ones putting the money in personally, Dell has been referred to as someone who will be a passive investor...that doesn't sound like he's as invested as the other 3.

Hope this 2nd richest club in the world thing plays out well for us but I'd be more than happy with the 3 billionaires if it doesn't.

Passive investor means nothing about the quantum of the investment, it simply means he won’t be involved in the day to day running of the club.
No surprise that he isn’t tbh

It could mean anything tbh but I just wonder why he hasn't invested personally into the project and made a quartet?...surely that would make a bigger statement?

I think his name has been involved in this deal far too much, even a few on here are refering to it as Dell's takeover when it doesn't look to be the case.

It's no bad thing if he isn't that involved, if anything it looks to me like the doors open for him to become more interested if/when we get up into the Prem.

All just my opinion of course but it's no bad outcome off he's involved heavily or not.
3 men are handling his wealth, those 3 men plus Mr Dell himself are buying Sunderland. It's not simply a quartet from nowhere, it's Dell and the people who run his businesses. Anyway, I just want us to become a top 10 Premiership club and play in Europe, people are getting a little carried away dreaming of title battles with Man City imo.

They aren’t guessing. They are reporting the information as they receive it. Saying they are guessing isn’t going to change reality.

You might be right, but then from what @Reiver has been saying it's not really something you can put a definite timeframe on, he's suggested even the owners don't have a clear idea of when it can all be announced. Sounds like there's some issues, but if they can be resolved in a week or so it's likely not major legal issues. In that case there's every chance that it might randomly be resolved this week or drag into next, BBC Newcastle might simply be being cautious in their estimate

They want us out that league pronto and getting beat easily off a non top 6 side shows the problems ahead under current management- it would incur they are looking at availability of new managers hence the delay-

There's people on here and in the media saying it's not a new manager that is the delay....due diligence just stated on total sport.

I've no problem with a delay...as long as it goes thru.

He’s changed his mind a few times about when he thinks it will be done. He basically hasnt a clue

He can only guess - and that applies to literally everyone not directly involved with the actual deal.

As the screenwriter William Goldman famously once said "nobody knows anything"

He was talking about films of course, but from experience it's still very apposite for football rumour threads.

Hope it is that mate but it could mean the opposite too and that he won't be heavily interested at all, leaving it to the other 3.

I guess we'll find out more in 2 weeks time.
