Takeover Rumours

They are the ones putting the money in personally, Dell has been referred to as someone who will be a passive investor...that doesn't sound like he's as invested as the other 3.

Hope this 2nd richest club in the world thing plays out well for us but I'd be more than happy with the 3 billionaires if it doesn't.

Aye, the vast majority certainly wanted him, I know I definitely wanted him! We'd lost a lad who scored for fun in this league, Grigg had a great goal return at this level, I was happy we got him.

Certainly I disagree when some are calling him a panic buy. A panic buy is when you need a player in and, with the window nearly shutting, you just buy any fucker who is available, often without scouting etc because you don't have time, maybe another move has fallen through so you panic and get someone in. That's not what happened with Grigg, at all. He was our number one target throughout. Now, I'd agree if you said we overspent. We were probably held to ransom a bit with the window shutting but that doesn't affect whether he was the right player to bring in. They obviously thought he was since they'd targeted him all window, so you can't really call it a panic buy
I don't want anyone getting a dose of the shits about the takeover, but you're right about being held to ransom. It often happens when people are on a schedule, and this tale is a corker. When Felix Dennis (safely deed!) was selling his 'Computing' title to a big publishing group in the 80s, he let them do all the build up and announcements, and when he was suppose to stroll into the boardroom and sign on the line for £16m, he doubled the price at literally the last minute.
They paid. He started Dennis Publishing (The Week etc.) He also opened a shop full of maps. He liked maps!

GOM said the phrase means he’s not a director. Nothing to do with amount invested.

You say he's not investing money personally and then you say he'll be a "passive investor". Surely that means he's investing money personally but relying on his main men to oversee the running of the club. I think Spurs have a similar gig.

The 3 billionaires are direct managers of Dells assets and money- when you are 25th richest you employ people to protect you- Dell will fund both safc’s climb and the local development of surrounding area- people saying Dell wont be involved are clearly clutching at straws- however I heard that funding doesn’t begin till championship- don’t think that 3-0 last week helped.

It could mean anything tbh but I just wonder why he hasn't invested personally into the project and made a quartet?...surely that would make a bigger statement?

I think his name has been involved in this deal far too much, even a few on here are refering to it as Dell's takeover when it doesn't look to be the case.

It's no bad thing if he isn't that involved, if anything it looks to me like the doors open for him to become more interested if/when we get up into the Prem.

All just my opinion of course but it's no bad outcome off he's involved heavily or not.
