I wouldn't have said so mind;

"After all, Short is a multi-billionaire and in the early days he pumped money into the club but it was frittered away and it was on his watch that the club suffered back-to-back relegations.

We do not yet know the extent of the new owners' ambitions for the club, nor how much they are prepared to invest.

The transfer window is closed until the New Year, so any investment in the squad cannot take place until mid-season at the earliest.

And any investment they make must fit within the constraints of the EFL's Financial Fair Play, and Salary Cost Management Protocols.

It may be that their impact will only be fully felt should Sunderland win promotion to the Championship.'

And

"The only note of caution is that too much will be expected too soon.

The path back to the Premier League involves a long ladder and a lot of climbing – there are no express lifts linking League One and the Promised Land."
We can smell the fear😁

Starting tomorrow

Nee self respecting gadgie would use the term 'guy'
Hang your head in shame
Er you can't just make the rules up as you along like. Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy, Guy. Stick that in your closet and get yourself away down the sidewalk.

As a way of thanking our new American owners I will not pull up people who describe other blokes as 'guys' for one whole week
I would not go that far like. And to my dying day I will promote the use of proper terms such as 'Gadgies, fellas, blokes, etc'. Plus I would never refer to a bunch of people as 'Guys', especially so if that group has Broads in it, who have real blarts and tits that produce milk if bairned up.

Latest from the Echo at 19.33 ... Sunderland chairman Stewart Donald has spent time on Wearside this weekend, with hopes high a takeover deal will be finalised in the coming days.

Not exactly going out on a limb !
