I like how people post vague shite and put a winky smiley after it, as if this will somehow ratify the vague nonsense they’ve posted.

Tuesday might be a good day 😉

Bore off
cant see it being tomorrow as England playing all the media attention will be with that

Anyone who doesn't think we are a big club are deranged tbh.
Big club in low league.
Just like man city were when they were here.
And just like City, mega rich owners have sat up and took notice.

Haway @Reiver man, get back in tha boardroom or the bogs an dee a bit more cleaning,
See if yer can pick up a few more snippets ;) :D

If this goes through the mags will be f***ing desperate to get to league one in the hopes of the same happening to them! It's an actual thing though, big clubs in the prem are bloody expensive and returns are probably limited unless you can get them top 4. Get a club in this league with the infrastructure already in place and, if you're confident you can get them back where they belong, it's a better opportunity when buying for a rock bottom price. Getting to be owner of Sunderland AFC for £40m man, at a time when clubs are paying that for one painfully average footballer

Good for the club in the long term but people are getting to excited over it like. We have to get out of league 1 for a start, then have a real good go at the Championship which will probably take a couple of years and only then can you start in the Prem. People thinking this is going to be like Man City flying to the top of the Prem is living in cloud coo coo l and. Great, we possibly have people with good business sense and take us forward but I will leave the real excitement for few years down the line yet.
Whoaaa!! Don't go pissing on my chips with your "realism" - I'm in full blown "getting carried away" mode. Had decades of realism thank you.

That's the way I see it as well, we are a very very attractive investment as the potential is huge.

I was speaking to someone about this the other day when they asked why someone with that amount of money would want a team in league one

When you think about it, we have a lot of things in place like the stadium and academy, if we got to the prem without over spending they could make some money out of us

I think I remember when Chelsea were up for sale they wanted 2 billion so it's quite a jump to buy the bigger teams

Theyve nailed the manager appointment then

Is this not a cause for celebration? I'd quite happily take this.

Most of what's being said is just piss takes. You're not really taking people serious when they say 'Champions League in 3 years time', or 'Rollercoaster over the SoL' are you?

Have you really made an account called 'Realist' just to post this type of shite? Fuck off.

Going down to this league looks like its been a blessing in disguise and I've hoped and prayed for something like this to come along.

I remember the Reid era reported on as "waking the sleeping giant"

This will hopefully be the giant getting a boot up the arse and steroids :D

Aye that's the thing. Obviously they'll need to put some of their own money in but if they can also generate cash from elsewhere they could see a massive return. Buy us for £40m and if ran well and in the PL there's no reason why you couldn't sell for around the £300m they Ashley wants for the mags. Someone buying them can enjoy the fact they make a profit year on year, but they'll never increase the clubs value by £250m odd. Don't know if it's ironic, and don't want to be compared to Alanis Morrisette, but let's just say it's funny that they've all been laughing about how little our club is worth (haha we bought a shit striker for £40m, that's as much as the mackems whole club is worth) when actually that low value might be one of the main things that gets the kind of owners in who can, eventually, blow them out of the water. I'm getting ahead of myself like but fuck it, after years of shite I'm at least looking forward to the ride

The problem that they have is that there is no way that Agent Ashley would waive the debt.

We are very fortunate in that respect as Ellis decided to try and cut his losses whilst also making a form of amends for the mess that we were in.
