It’s funny I’m scoffing at your delusion for thinking dyche would come here but then also at the same time thinking how underwhelmed I would be if he did come 😂 thus probably trumping your delusion

I didn't say I thought Dyche would come here.

I've just been talking to my friend, Fabrizio Tonna, who's now back home in Lugano. He's very well connected in the States, UK, Russia, France, etc but has zero interest in football so lots of stuff bypasses him. But since all this kicked off he's tried to pay attention 'cos he likes me, loves a bit of intrigue and because other wealthy people are involved. It's a shame @Grumpy Old Man wasn't talking to him because a lot of the terminology is double Dutch to me and I know little about the big European clubs tbh.

Anyway, this appears to be the gist of what he's saying. He keeps banging on about PSG who were like Chelsea before Abramovic arrived. It appears Qatar wanted PSG for many other reasons than a love of football. It's actually to do with religious uncertainty, oil running out, etc. So they want other income, bolt holes and favourable influence in Europe.

He reckons our new overlords are keeping an eye on Brexit, our increased dependency on the States, the increased interest in football there and the effect Netflix has had. He doesn't know what involvement Dell has in broadcasting but says he wouldn't be surprised in they don't creep into TV rights for games over there.

He believes they'll appoint a club ambassador to pull everything together but that last bit is a guess from him, he's a smart fella so he might be right.

And that's it. If I wanted to make it all look more coherent and embellish it I could do but that's just a few snippets, I managed to glean, from an hour long conversation with someone who''s quite excitable, rambling and speaks in a heavy Italian accent. So, that's absolutely everything I can say .... please either take it or leave it but don't harangue me for meanings or details, that's really all I have.
Good news that to be honest not just for us but them as a business in diversifying there brand/company.

Something i read a few weeks ago about major companies claiming that shareholder value is no longer everything and that a more altruistic way forward should be used as a method to maximize a business.

As we all know our club is community focused (thanks to Sir Bob) and geared to helping people in our city that it could also be one of the reasons MSD have decide to jump on board at the ground level so to speak.

Yes, I bet they have other ideas as the club own land around the ground that would be more than useful to them, but as @Reiver mentioned in a post well back we all have to buy into this and jump on board, make out little community, massive once again. Without community you've got fuck all, we've got one, small yes, the MSD lads have seen that (thanks to Netflix) and hopefully they can see away to make it bigger which in turn pulls the city up, the people in it and hopefully more inward investment etc which will no doubt help a few football club investors some cash along the way.

That could be all shite tbf, but right now I'm in, even if I live 3500 miles away :)

I can come here and say what I want ffs. You are correct to an extent, but we don’t know what was going on behind the scenes at the time. I maintain he could help us transition well from league one to premier league with a different crop of players.

I’m sure there’s other fish in the sea, he’s the only ex manager I’d like to see try again.
He threw the towel in. He knew it would make him rich. He was looking to be sacked. He cost us
millions.
You want him back, I don’t.
Let’s leave it at that.

You’d be underwhelmed with Dyche?

Jesus wept - who would you want?

Dunno just never been that taken with him. Does he have another dimension than that rut lower premier league managers get into of damage limitation. Appreciate that’s a view open to lots of counter argument it’s probably just me. Never found anything impressive about him

Anyone got any idea why my local bookies would not take my bet yesterday that Dyche would be our manager within the next 12 months ?
