I’m 64. Time is running out for me to see us win the Top division. In my lifetime, as well as the big boys, the following clubs have won it;

Wolves
Burnley
Ipswich
Leeds
Everton
Derby
Nottingham forest
Blackburn
Leicester

I don’t care whose money we use to add Sunderland AFC to that list.

Nail,head,well said!

I’m 62. Been supporting County Durham’s team since I was six and my family took me as a treat. In those days loads of coaches ,left from Hartlepool bus station. The platform on the railway station was packed every home game.
When I was 11 I used to go to the games on my own by train.
1973 and the big interest was still there, but gradually that interest waned in my town as we left County Durham and joined Cleveland and the club’s fortunes dipped.
Peter Reid and the interest returned. Right now interest is pretty poor in my town. This takeover might just bring that interest back.
On a personal note, I really hope we make inroads. My daughter is a single Mam and her son is only three. His dad is a Man United fan. Goes to see them now and then. Has bought my grandson their strips. Watches their videos with him.
My grandson sings “ We love you Sunderland we do” by the time this takeover takes off he will be ready to go to matches. I hope by then we are competing with the likes of Man United and he tells his Dad to shove it.

I would add Man City and Chelsea to that list both haven’t won more top flights than us, Everton 10 villa 7 have won more.

Nothing really to add to this thread apart from it’s been f***ing brilliant and let’s bring some good times to this club. Hate saying fans deserve things but personally I’ve had a lot of shite served up since my first game in 1989/90 and I can’t wait for a new chapter that gives us some hope of doing something positive.
Let’s hope this gets across the line and the good times roll in. Can’t wait for a feel good factor to hit us again.
