Takeover Rumours

I don’t care how long it takes, as long as it happens. I’m enjoying this thread so much, it can keep going for me! Seriously though, when it does break, I think we’re going to have to pinch ourselves. We will have a higher owner wealth than any other sporting club on the planet. Just try and imagine Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus all being poorer than us. It’s no wonder I’m drinking so much.

Sorry but that’s utterly preposterous. Minutes after the deal is done the club is on the phone to rawa and rr? ffs

Not minutes after the deal is done, by all accounts the deal was completed the day before. But it is quite common that when planning for an announcement they cascade info to these groups. Likely the idea was get them to post something, then follow it up with an official club release. Why do you think they all randomly posted teasers within a few minutes of each other? Hell, that teaser was the first thing the red and white army have tweeted since August 30th, they haven't tweeted since, but you think it was just a random, unprompted tweet? Ha'way

They posted the American flag thing at almost exactly the same time as RAWA posted about it being the day before Christmas and ALS posted "get ready". They hadn't been posting things like that previously and it was obviously coordinated. When the announcement slipped presumably the club didn't feel the need to brief them all immediately, hence the BBC bit might have taken them by surprise. Doesn't detract from the fact that the coordinated posts from the three groups were almost certainly orchestrated by the club, it's not wild speculation, it's highly likely

I wasnt saying the club talking to those outlets was wild speculation by the way - I meant your story about it being signed off for a friday announcement and 100 percent done and for them then to realise there is more stuff to sort. Whether they were fed something or not, the BBC breaking the news it wont be completed this week, proves they certainly do not have their finger on the pulse on this.

This. The Roker Report and ALS were the first to be informed about the takeover by the club apparently.

Coincidence or more likely they are all in the same whatsapp group and decided to do it For a laugh.

I think they've definitely been getting info this time. Earlier today both RR and ALS (and RAWA iirc) all posted things suggesting something had happened within a couple of minutes of each other. I'd imagine at that point they were on for a Friday announcement, and it was all signed off. It's obviously still all agreed and will 100% happen, but whatever the issue is that's preventing them from finalising a date/ time for the announcement presumably means Donald et al don't know for certain when it'll be, so RR and the likes won't be getting fed info either

I've been desperate for it all to happen today and, up until this evening the people involved hoped it would.

They started prepping the media with hopeful snippets and, for a short time the local BBC and fanzines started to ramp things up.

Then it all calmed again and I started getting 'complications' warnings. I've kept my hopes up, because I'm knackered with it all, but have just had a message telling me to give it up and accept it'll be midweek, after the rugby and England game.

Fuck fuck fuck!

There's no way the takeover won't happen but there are just too many issues to address in a day. I've pushed to find out what the issues are but I'm not getting too much response. When I asked about a managerial change I got no response at all.

So it looks like a midweek announcement and the whole hysteria all over again ...
... FFS, I'm 63 years old man

Was obvious marra.

Nope. It's far more likely they've all been briefed and told not to leak anything. I'd imagine they all got a text saying "it's done and we'll announce tomorrow" or words to that effect. Just like it was obvious SD was texting them on transfer deadline day.

Don't know why people refuse to accept they're getting inside info when it's clear as day.

Nah @PhilSAFC reckons they were just doing it for a laugh, or maybe all randomly posted it at the same time by coincidence!

At least we know it's done, and next week will be a good time for an announcement when it's international week. Be interesting if we find out what's caused the delay mind

That suggests it’s the manager. I reckon he’s a goner

Honestly cant see Ross loosing the job at all yet imo. Think Donald and methven has too much faith in him and reckon this will have been mentioned to the new owners. I'd imagine it may upset a few players if Ross were to be sacked after loosing only 1 game so far this season and sont think they'd wanna risk it qith the window being closed now. We dont have enough quality to not play a few unhappy key players either. 😕
I don’t think business men as powerful as these would let SD & CM dictate if they’d been advised to change and had a better manager lined up. And nobody knows how the players feel about the system we play because in general they all claim to be happy anyway till they move on or the manager is changed.
