Takeover Rumours

A takeover of shares of a football club. Not that exciting. Wenger as manager, Henry out of retirement...my mates mothers, cousins half sisters boyfriend is getting the plane ready to bring over out billions. Yea rightio..

I’ll be excited when I see investment in the club and good performances on the pitch.

Reiver seems a good chap (more based on what he’s done for fellow fans than this thread) but I’ll wait for the announcement before busting something ta.
Nee-one genuinely believes the Wenger shit man

But we're being taken over by some very wealthy and serious people. The snippets Reiver has revealed give any Sunderland fan genuine reason to be excited and have hope surely?

That's fair enough. Personally, for where we're at at the moment, he's doing a good job. Each to their own.
A good job for me would have been overseeing promotion and consolidating in the Championship. I think they have an idea of how they want a football club to be run, and so far he's tried a bitter of a scatter gun approach to implementing it - appointing a bit of a wild card out of the Scottish leagues, bringing in Richard Hill and Coton, the handling of the Maja situation, splashing the cash on Will Grigg - and so far it hasn't really worked. Ok it may be an improvement on the absolute shitstorm that's gone on before, but there are some inconsistencies there. Maybe it's a learning curve, maybe he needs some help and maybe that help will come, or maybe it's just too big for him. We'll see. On the other hand, who's to say we could do better. Short was very rich and spent ten years appointing some very bad mistakes to the boardroom.

This thread reminds me of the McInnes one started by that shitehawk MadBob/Vauxie/UpThere/MrDavid  Breakfast with McInnes ffs!!

Reiver was around before this fool right haha?

Nah in all seriousness you seem genuine. Just hope this comes off.

He's right, you don't need to spend money to get out of this league IF the recruitment team and manager get things right.

They've said the investment is more for moving forwards beyond league one....although granted it seems the team is gonna need a little helping hand this year as well

In my eyes, Donald's heart being in the right place is exactly why him staying is good. And he gets that the club ultimately belongs to the fans..... BUT....he will have more ruthless people above him to make sure he delivers and gets rid of people where necessary i.e. Coton, Ross, etc.
I don't disagree, but so far, Donald is responsible for all those people.

I agree with you about the likes of Coton and Hill, they need bombing out. But as has been said, hopefully something like that would be taken out of his hands with new owners. I personally have no problem with Donald just doing the day to day running of the club.

I can. He's had to do things previously on his budget, that is changing, so of course he'll be wanting to improve on what he's done.
You let real top of their game people with top level experience sanction big spending for players not (forgive me) some jumped up irish solicitor or scottish ex male model..Just the same as you appoint a top class legal experts and accountants (you listening GoM) to oversee contracts and financial affairs when your at that level. At least , that what i used to do. invest in the best.

Are mags barred from this thread, they're usually crawling all over. Might be on the weekend congratulating us.

Hiding under the bed.
Within the budget he's had though. That's the difference. Roll on Friday, hope you're as cheerful as the rest of us by the end of it ;)

This might even cheer up @jsdftm04
I say might..
