I've never looked at his voting record, but I've never failed to be impressed by his speeches in the House, on a wide variety of subjects, not least being the Weapons of Mass Destruction (10th anniversary, I think, a few years back). Perhaps he's conned me. Perhaps an examination of his voting record doesn't tell the whole story. Personally, I think he's in a different league, both intellectually & in terms of his integrity, than most other current politicians I'm aware of, with the notable exception of David Lammy. Anyway, as you said, this isn't the thread for politics. Or is it?

I once thought the idea of a Mag biased media was absolutely absurd. I now believe 100% that this exists. It’s not the shite we winge about on here about the likes of Dawn Thewliss or whatever she is called . It’s the written media who’s editors are almost without exception, Hard core mag supporters. They rejoice in any bad news story and supress any story that puts us in a good light. It’s in their own interest to do this as a successful Sunderland team is a threat to their fortunes.
We are on the verge of a massive takeover yet hardly anything is being reported. There would be ten page pullouts if the shoe was on the other foot.

I know that bit was tongue in cheek, however our takeover might actually hasten Big Mike's departure, as he'll realise he can't compete now, even on a local basis.

Again - I'm not interested in what's in the Chronicle. It's their paper, let them get on with it. It's just a shame our own paper is fuckin' mess these days.

And at the end of the day, where this proposed takeover is concerned, there's not an awful lot to report, unless you expect them to dedicate column inches to a pissed up awld bouncer off the internet (nee offence hew @Reiver).
