We had a staggering number of newcomers from Ireland in the Drumaville (and especially Keane) days. Many have probably deserted us now but there will be some legacy I'm sure. I don't think it will be the same in this instance but if we do well on the pitch we'll obviously attract new supporters like any successful club does.

That's what got me wondering, people can become attached to a club for the flimsiest reasons.

Martin O'Neil always claimed to be a Sunderland supporter based entirely on his admiration of Charlie Hurley.

I know people don't always appreciate 'glory hunters' but the more people we have in the ground the better imo.

Will we be having a US tour pre-season I wonder ....

Has the Netflix series brought more users to this board? I'm just wondering.

Your a yank ain't ya? You tell us

Don't mean no offence by yank btw

The very thought of us having glory hunters is unreal. This week’s been like an acid trip. Think I’d be quite happy just to keep it going, whatever happens 😃

It's not like I'm in charge of the f***ing analytics, pal.

it's always so hard to know who is actually new and who just has a new login, although some are morrrrre obvious than otherrrrs😉

... will there be a flood of new members and how many will be Sunderland?

It would be good to see new people joining and decent threads started on various subjects.

I can see Sunderland receiving a real boost from this and not just on the pitch.

Those Trans-Atlantic flights are quite long so we may have a few new lurkers
I'm trying to quell my excitement on this at the moment. If it comes off, it will be an incredible day in our clubs history, but I won't believe it, till I see it on SAFC as headline news.

Sorry. Can’t get it out of my head and didn’t trawl through the rest.
unfortunately it’s going to be one of my boring features from now on.

I was telling him about the Russian Oligarch I worked for and was winding the conversation around to having a whinge about him.

He casually mentioned that one of his best mates was Putin so I thought that was a good moment to talk about the weather
