Interesting you were once in that position. Fair roster of managers with decent reputations who had done what was asked in avoiding relegation. With less than a full season to do so. Strange that none lasted before the clocks changed once the next season started. Fancy having likes of O Neill Advocaat who won stuff & binning them off before ending up in Third Division. But yeah Newcastle are self righteous.

I take it we're talking about sima? I've had him on ignore for about 2 years now but the mods should have banned him a long time ago. It's sickening when decent genuine Sunderland fans get banned from here all the time and yet wankers like him an Benji have a free reign to take the piss out of us (which goes well beyond banter)

Sunderland board. Plenty of threads that dont mention Newcastle. Though there is one clearly marked Newcastle fc. And is always the biggest thread on board. Was always the biggest thread in the dim & distant days when Sunderland played Premier football as well. So nothing to do with you playing Third Division football

O'Neil was going to take us down as we had a slump of results so he had to go and Di Canio came in as gave us new manager win at your place! :lol: Advocaat understandably quit as he never won any of the first 8 league games of the new season and only got 2 draws. He hadn't been planning on staying long term but was persuaded to stay with a bunch of flowers for his lass from us :lol: but obviously come the new season realised the job wasn't going to be easy. Big difference is we didn't go on like wailing fannies like the mags have done about Benitez! :lol::lol:

Dick Advocaat has resigned as Sunderland boss, with the team yet to win in the Premier League this season. The 68-year-old Dutchman was appointed in March, when the Black Cats were one point above the relegation zone. He guided them to safety and was due to leave the club in the summer, only to sign a new one-year contract. Advocaat said: "I have made the decision to go after only eight games as I felt it was important to give everyone time to turn things around." Sunderland chairman Ellis Short said: "I am truly saddened by Dick's decision, but I respect him for his honesty.

This is very true. Rafa made it obvious and it was still a right pisser when he gave away the Oxford cup game when guaranteed promtion from Second Division. But Bruce appointment was accompanied with pronouncement the cups would now be taken seriously.
