You better believe it. Those guys just love all-nighters. Start at 9am, go through 12 arguments about amendments, and then agree on the original draft 19 and a half hours later, fuelled only by coffee and pizza (or Chinese via Deliveroo if they're feeling exotic). You probably think I'm joking - I wish I was - Mrs G has first hand experience.
Long day that.. Bet they're paid well to be up till then.

Sorry mate What's the relevance of this?

Where's 4.30 suddenly come from? Apologies if already posted earlier

It's an accountancy injoke. A general observation on the behaviour of the species, and not specific to or indeed about this deal. Merely a plausible explanation for the radio silence. For all we know, they could be on argument 8 at we speak :)

Just part of the dance isn't it, fight until they're broken and tired because they know that 1/10 times they'll get a concession. It's just an exaggerated version of the car salesman who sits there and says nothing.

I know! We’re gonna have to educate them!:p

SAFC is frequently referred to as The Mackems in the media these days, never The Geordies. I just hope that moniker doesn’t offend our fine Geordie support.
From a Geordie Sunderland supporter it doesn't, and never should. I am from Hebburn and my Dad used always say to me you are from County Durham and don't have to cross a river to support your team. I was actually born in Newcastle (St Mary's Hospital) , but luckily sneaked to the right side of the river.

The big thing for me if this comes off is the long term security of our football club is hopefully 100% secure.

Thanks to all posting stuff in good faith, I'm optimistic it's going to happen and am struggling to keep my feat on the ground but like everyone else just want to see that press conference happen and the deal announced.

If something happens at the last minute and for whatever reasons the wheels came off id obviously be gutted but you know what we are doing ok and will get out of this league this season.

In the meantime, everything crossed.
